Deals going through - 12 Aug 2010

I know our transfer deals are going to go through in the last week of the transfer window. But since we are all antsy as hell waiting to see who we add to our team, here are a few deals going through which I thought could have fit as well.

1) Kenwyne Jones - I think he has a poor attitude once he tried to leave Sunderland when he was on red hot form. But he has tapered off since then. However, I think he has the right ingredients such as being able to play the lone striker role. And for 9million pounds? That is a decent price.

2) Diego - Hottest playmaker in Bremen two seasons ago earning him a 25million Euros move to Juve which saw him become a star .... until he got injured and things just kept going downhill from then on. Apparently going to Wolfsburg for 16 million Euros, which is a decent price. I rate him pretty highly.

3) Miralem Sulejmani - Earned a 13 million pounds move to Ajax after shining for Heerenveen. Predominantly a wide attacker, would fit into our 4-2-3-1 formation. Joining West ham on a years loan which would mean zero risk in the deal. Kind of like a Gudjohnson replacement. Fell out with Martin Jol in a big way, do not expect him to play for Ajax again.

Good deals going through this week, I wonder who the heck Redknapp is going to sign because I thought the three above were pretty value for money for a CL team.

Actually, I just saw that Diego wants 125k Euros/week. I have no idea about the wages of these guys by the way. Kenwyne Jones should be more affordable.

Never liked Diego and Sulejmani is not good player well not good enough for us

Diego would have been great if modders had gone to united or we lost niko, but we wont have space for someone that would ask such a high wage, he was one of my fav players season before last and would love nothing more then having him in our squad

I remember last season we were pushing very hard to get Kenwyn Jones and Stuart Downey and i wasn't happy. I didn't think any of them would improve our team.

Diego Godin just moved to join Forlan in Spain for 8 million Euros. He is 24 and had a good WC. Prior to that he has always been solid at club level. Would have been a decent target for our CB requirements?
