So after hearing from Ardilles and Harry, it does sound like we have a few targets lined up and we are trying to make a deal happen. Seems like just two players, one striker and one attacking midfielder.
I assume that the attacking midfielder is for a 4-5-1 formation for Europe and the striker to replace Robbie Keane.
I just wonder, should we be paying attention to Keisuke Honda? I know the general conventional thought of Asian players being in England for the commercial value, but players like Park Ji Sung and Lee Chun Yong have to a certain extent, been integral parts of their respective teams. I am not suggesting Honda if I thought he were a Inamoto ala Arsenal fiasco, but I thought he was quite good at the WC playing as a lone striker in such a defense minded team. Isn't that what we are looking for?
Anyways, the foremost expert on Japanese players is ironically a french man, our favorite Arsene Wenger who started off coaching Grampus Eight I think in Japan. He seems to be after Honda and has stated how impressive he was. Arsenal interested in Japan international Keisuke Honda - Telegraph
For a bit of background, Honda was at VV Venlo in the Dutch league, stayed with them when they got relegated, played well and became their star gaining promotion as well before moving just 6 months ago to Russia for 6million, think he might be available for 15million.
If its a striker and an attacking midfielder, and the Luis Suarez and Messut Ozil rumours are true. Cream. Pants. In.
Super Harry Redknapp,
He wears a magic hat,
He couldn't fly to Anfield
So turned into a cat!

If we were to sign Suarez and Ozil it would be an unbelievably successful transfer window, once I wouldn't have believed. That said, Honda looked solid in the world cup but does anyone have move info on his club play?
If you believe we would get Ozil you are going to be disappointed. If Chelsea, Man U, Barca and Real want him how could we possibly match anything they could offer.

I used to go to Norfolk fishing and I went to a few Norwich games. There's a lad called Hoolihan. Play's in central midfield for Norwich F.C. Very impressive. Highly skilled. Uses the ball well. Makes intelligent decisions. dictates play around in midfield. Scores a lot and assist a good deal. Reminds me a smaller Glen Hoddle. He would supply our front with loads of deft touches here and there. The kind of service strikers thrive on. I could imagine Dafoe pointing to where he wants the ball and it's there. Or lennon tearing down the wing and perfectly released ball at the right pace is right in front of him. Pav would sure like him also as Pav always demands the ball. Here's the player !! A step up to PL would be alright for him. I'm very, very sure.
I wonder if Harry should send Kevin Bond down there take a look. He's good

The issue with Ozil right now is that I don't hear a lot of news from Manu, Chelsea, Madrid, or Barca. I know Mourinho wouldn't be shy in saying he wants him and we all know that Barca likely would voice their right to sign him. Manu doesn't have cash and it sounds like Chelsea is looking elsewhere. My big bump against Ozil is that he would use us as a jumping point to one of these squads.
Truth be told I am tired of hearing who we are targeting I want to hear news about who we actually have signed.

Im just gonna put this out there, Honda can also play at left back.
But is'nt he on his way to AC Milan? There were some reports the day before yesterday.
Suarez and Ozil.
Could u imagine.
This forum wuld crash in 2 mins.
"Modric could play in any team in the world in my opinion, he's a fantastic footballer, top, top class."
I like Honda and he did have a very fine World Cup, but part of the reason CSKA made such a fantastic signing of him is not just the low price that they got him for, but also the inflated price he's going to be sold for now. A good player and one that would be nice with Spurs, but one that will be sold for more than he is worth so I'll pass.
ozil is not out of our reach his contract runs out next summer so, what 10million? and if what was said is true about the "under the radar work" then they well be looking to get ozil and/or suarez.
