RAUL BRITANNIA ... Spain ace fancies Prem move
RAUL is poised for a shock Premier League move with Tottenham top of the queue.
The Real Madrid ace has snubbed Germans Wolfsburg, insisting he wants to end his career in England.
Raul, 33, who played 39 games and scored seven goals last season, is being hunted by Spurs and Newcastle and is available on a free transfer.
Agent Barry O'Connor holds the mandate from Real to find Raul a club in England.
And he said: "With a player of this pedigree there is always a lot of interest but nothing will happen until Real Madrid give the official go-ahead that he can leave."
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has a track record of signing top senior stars like Teddy Sheringham and squeezing the best out of them.
After Redknapp was beaten by Liverpool to signing Joe Cole, he is keen to add to his squad. But it has been made clear by chairman Daniel Levy he will not break the club's pay structure.
It is understood Raul, who won 102 caps for Spain and fired 44 goals, would prefer a move to London.
But Newcastle want to show they are ambitious on their return to the top flight and Raul, the top Real Madrid scorer of all time with 311 goals in 722 games, is on their radar.
I dont know how I feel about this one, really cant see it happening.
He clearly would be coming off the bench no? For a free transfer I think this could be alright.
All those chances we seem to create for Keane that he's been wasting - he was on form in that sense against San Jose!! - is there anyone better than Raul you would want on the end of them?
At 33 he's getting on, but I would think he has a couple years left in him yet & Harry does have a track record with older players & reigniting their fading careers - Kanu, Sheringham, Merson, James. If he could do that with Raul, on a free, its got to be a winner.
King and Bongani,
King and Bongani bong!!
(watch out here they come!)
Will we stay or will we go now?
Will we stay or will we go now?
If we go there will be trouble
and if we stay we'll do the double
So Levy has got let us know
Will we stay or will we go!
Rafael, Van Der Vaart
ƒuck Chelsea & Frank Lampard
with a nick-nack paddywhack he'll be getting goals
when Lampard's too fat & old

Interesting. He's probably got a couple years left in him.
he'd make unthinkably high wages, though, and as the article says, we're not going to break our wage structure.
Yeah, but are newcastle gonna be able to outbid us? I'm still not sure that he can bring anything more to our bench than we already have and I'd prefer to see the 70k we'd have to pay him go to someone like forlan or suarez... or even "not as big as sevilla... oh wait no bids from man u? They're ambitious then" Fabiano
In Levy and Redknapp we trust.
I wouldn't mind him coming, but only if there is another striker on the way too.
I would love to have Mr Madrid at spurs , absolutelty!! Get him in!!!
YOU HAVE TO EARN MY RESPECT HERE, I DO NOT HAVE TIME FOR THESE SO-CALLED SPURS FANS !!! IF I TALK TO YOU I MIGHT ACTUALLY LIKE YOU AND RESPECT THAT YOUR A TRUE YID!! IF I THINK YOUR NOT , DO NOT BE SURPRISED IF I INSULT YOU, YOU DIRTY SCRUBBY FAKE YID !! ..... COYS !!!
ummm i can see harry only going for older strikers forlan fabiano and now raul i think hes lookin for more experience but i think hes going to get some else too actully i hope :P
I agree, I'd much rather see Suarez coming in, tho the Forlan deal is surely dead. But failing that, would I trade Keano's wages (he's sure to be out) for Raul? I'd have to say yes, while I could understand the reservations some might have.
And yeah, totally smashing their wage structure to get a bigname player is exactly the kind of thing the barcodes would do. I'm glad they're back, I've missed making fun of them.
The next Klinsmann (player with experience banging the goals in)? TBH he has a great reputation and would love to see him at the Lane
he is a legend he was just not respected at real, also i know this is weird but i think he might join just for the white shirt
plus if he is in good form maybe he will get into the spain squad because torres is weird for the team, imagine if we had a player on spain
I dont like the sound of this, was my initial thought.
Why is Arry not spending any cash? Why are we insisting on getting players in on free transfers?
I cant see this as a starter in all honesty, I would be disappointed if this was our big name signing.
At 33 he cant have more than a year in him can he? If that!
