Tottenham and Sporting Lisbon*look set*to finalize a season-long loan agreement for Russian striker Roman Pavlyuchenko .According to Portugese daily Abola, the two clubs have been in negotiations for weeks and all that is needed is the agreement of Pavlycheno himself in order to close the deal.* Apparently, Tottenham and Sporting Lisbon have agreed to split the Russian striker's salary for the season.* 28-year-old Pavlyuchenko has had a troubled time at*Tottenham since his £13.8million move from Spartak Moscow two years ago, failing to command a regular first?team place under Spurs manager Harry Redknapp.* Pavlyuchenko has fallen behind the likes of Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch in the White Hart Lane pecking order, limiting his first-team opportunities.*Tottenham face Sporting Lisbon in a friendly in New York on Sunday and the two clubs will hope to finalize the deal then.

Woo Woo Woo You Know It Bro
Splitting salary? Doesn't seem worth it to me. I'd rather keep him in the team.
I definitely do not see this happening.
Would Levy really pay half of Pav's wages for the benefit of him strengthening another team in the CL, I doubt that!
Utter rubbish we would have to get something the other way after last season harry would have a higher value of pav. He played his role for us and was vital in our 4th place champions league finish.
Maybe it is the best offer we have got for him?
I don't think it is a great deal for us but if Harry wants him out and someone else in, maybe Levy has said that the wage bill needs to be balanced a bit?
He faded away after his good run of form last season. I think he is a good finisher but it seems hard to get a run of games in the Spurs team if you're not scoring. Other teams in the top 4/5/6 seem to stick with a main 2.
We did put in a "bid" of 4.2 million for their player Djalo so he might be coming the other way....I've never seen him play, but come Sunday I will however I doubt he compares to Super Pave
i really hope if this is true there is a clause that says if we get a decent offer for him we can sell him. if not then that is bad buisness cause we will be paying his wages and not a chance of anything in return. if levy agrees to that then he needs his head testing imho
it is better to fail aiming high, than to succeed aiming low,
and we spurs fans have set our sites very high,
so high in fact that even failure will have in it
an echo of glory.
Could be like the deal we did with Manu when we sold berba. We loan them pav but buy Djalo. I know absolutely nothing about Djalo though so I can't say if we would trully benefit.
Lisbon are playing on tv on espn tomorrow, maybe we all can see what he can do if he plays
SSN have just been talking about this story.
They heard it earlier today & said they then contacted people high up at Spurs, Lisbon & people very close to Pavlyuchenko himself. The response they got was that there is absolutely NOTHING in this story.
Encouragingly, what they were hearing out of Spurs was that we have no intention of letting Pav leave this summer & he features big in the plans for the upcoming season. The striker likely to leave is still Robbie
King and Bongani,
King and Bongani bong!!
(watch out here they come!)
Will we stay or will we go now?
Will we stay or will we go now?
If we go there will be trouble
and if we stay we'll do the double
So Levy has got let us know
Will we stay or will we go!
Rafael, Van Der Vaart
ƒuck Chelsea & Frank Lampard
with a nick-nack paddywhack he'll be getting goals
when Lampard's too fat & old
COYSAFOYS
yeah all the papaers have robbie going to fulham with bmj
I reckon Pav should be our main striker ! Why should it be Defoe and 'Crouchy.? 'Arry should have everybody straining at the leash to be on the pitch.
Keep Pav and give him a run in the team and give Gio a run too now, that Joey Cole is off the radar.
I understand giving Pavs a chance but GDS has no absolutely nothing to warrant taking a spot from someone else. At best, he should get a chance to play in the Carling Cup.
Either we keep pav or cash in on him, loaning is pointless man. What you mean GDS has done nothing to warrant taking a spot from someone else? He had a fantastic world cup in a great Mexico team being one of their star men so he deserves a chance I think just as a sub to start and see if he can carry on that form into the premier league and maybe start getting some games.. I like how GDS plays I think he could play as an attacking midfielder if we wanted to play 4-5-1.
