Tottenham and Fulham are interested in signing Rochdale's highly rated centre-back Craig Dawson.
The 19 year-old has been impressive since joining Rochdale from non-league last year. According to the Daily Mirror, Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp sent scout Ian Bloomfield to Spotland to watch Rochdale's draw with Lincoln City in League Two on Saturday.

He aint as good as Daws (our one) but he aint a totally crap player by a long shot.

I think with the right coaching he could be cracking. He is made from the same mold as his brother aint he.

He plays in the Premier League which is something. He actually looks quite decent occasionally.

i know mate, was mucking about. however he reminds me in a lot of ways of a sunday league defender - if he comes up against a half decent winger he sees how high he can kick em. we definitely got the better dawson

Just to point out, as there seems to be a little confusion in this thread, we are NOT talking about Michael Dawson's brother here.

Michael has 2 elder brothers, both in the game. The eldest, Andy, plays for Hull in the Premier League whilst the middle brother, Kevin, played for Forest & then Chesterfield but I think he no longer plays professionally & is coaching instead.

This kid, Craig Dawson, plays for Rochdale & is no relation to the 3 Dawson brothers. He is 19 & playing regularly in a Rochdale backline that has been solid this season, conceding just 31 goals. Rochdale are flying & look set for promotion from League 2 this year as they currently sit in the top spot 6 points clear & with a game in hand & with a vastly superior goal difference with +39, 31 more than Bournemouth in 2nd place & 34 more than Bury in 3rd. The only team who look as they can catch them for the title are Notts County in 4th. County have 60pts but have 2 games in hand on Rochdale & even have a marginally better GD at +41.

Still, with the megabucks Notts County have spent this season it surely only highlights just how good Rochdale & the likes of 19 year old Craig have been this year.

Still, it is a HUGE jump from League 2 up to the Premiership & many people think he will most likely end up in the Championship before he tests himself in the top flight.

Cheers, Unit. I thought that was probably the case but when I was reading thru each post it really sounded as if everyone was talking about Craig Dawson being Michael's brother.

I guess I was kind of stating the obvious but then someone coming along to this site who knows less about football than us wise, old sages could very well leave here thinking we were about to buy Michael's brother after reading thru this thread!!
