According to the press, we have been heavily scouting Brazil's young goalkeeper Diego Alves.
Alves is currently at Almeria in La Liga and, at 24 yrs old, he is very highly rated after a couple good seasons in Spain & has attracted the gaze of several clubs, including the mighty Real Madrid.
However, the 2 clubs who appear to be most interested right now our Valencia & Spurs. Alves has said that he dreams of 1 day playing for a big European club & it seems as tho Spurs would fall into that category for him.
Despite his young age for a goalkeeper, Alves is battling our own Heurelho Gomes over selection for Brazil's WC squad this summer & Alves believes he has a great chance of making the cut having performed well recently in Spain's top division. It is certainly a very interesting proposition, to have not 1 but 2 Brazilian goalie's at Tottenham. However, the sort of money being talked about makes the move look a little unlikely to me. I've heard Alves rated as high as £10m, more than our current No.1 cost us, & seeing as tho we are really in the market for a No.2, albeit 1 who can push for the No.1 jersey, it just seems too much
Goalkeepers generally cost quite a bit less than that, so to have a combined £20m worth of talent between the sticks looks a little extravagant to me. I doubt Alves is actually worth that much but it is down to his current club at the end of the day if they want to let him go.

Depending on the Cudicini situation, if this kid is available in the summer and Levy could negotiate a more reasonable price, I would be for the move. His age is another very attractive quality.
