CMs in the Summer

Its been apparent for some time now, but with the injury to Huddlestone today the issue has now come to the forefront of matters. We are going to have to find some help in the central midfield this summer. There is no doubt that Harry will be looking to bolster the central midfield with some new blood. Hopefully Jenas will be on his way out which will mean we must find 1, if not 2, new players to come in at the position. O'Hara is on loan to pompey but it is unclear whether a) he will even return and b) what his position actually will be if he does.

So, with all that said, who are some signings you might like to see at the central midfield position this summer? Obviously it is a ways off, but its never too early to identify players that would fit in well at Spurs.

I'd like to think that Sandro talks will begin again in the summer. He is young, with a promising future ahead of him. He would be an ideal backup to Palacios. Additionally, and I've never made any secrets about this, I would love for Harry to go after Sulley Muntari from Inter. He's is familiar to Harry from his time at Portsmouth and has been relegated to the bench at Inter (at least from what i've seen in recent matches, notably the CL game against Chelski). IMO he is a player with a lot of class who could really help our midfield. Who are some other players people would like to see?

I would absolutely love us to get Miguel Veloso, not a big secret he wants to leave lisbon, was brilliant the other night against Everton, quality on the ball, quality defensively and versatile (he finished the everton game at left-back), would definitely love him to be a yid.

also are we under the assumption that Jermaine "The Donkey" Jenas goes in the summer?

Veloso was excellent again today, & scored again too, against Porto. He was playing back in CM alongside Moutinho (who would be another good shout btw). Sporting are in a bit of trouble & aren't going to qualify for the CL either, so summer sales look pretty likely. As I said in the "Veloso" thread, the guy would be incredibly handy to have around because he played very well v Everton as a LW & a LB & we know he plays as a CM & a CD also, very useful indeed!

Veloso, Muntari, Sandro & Montolivo I've heard us linked with & are all great shouts. Moutinho, Palombo & Kallstrom are some we've not been linked with (not recently anyway) but I think would all be great additions.

The O'Hara situation is a bit strange. Harry came out last week to say how much he rated Jamie & that there was deffo a future for him at WHL & then the next day Jamie came out & said how he would be looking for a new club in the summer!!

Stephen Ireland would be great for the CM spot as well. He would be great to have as competition for THudd in the middle of the pitch, not to mention he wouldn't be too much of a risk as he has been playing the the epl for a while now.

Veloso would be a gr8 signin if we get him ..but i think were going for sandro, lets wait till the summer n look at what happens

Tom Hudd is a class act. still young and in his first season playing week in week out has been my fav this season. Think he could be WORLD class one day if he keeps progressing
but for summer i say Sandro could be a great buy and no doubt for 6 mil will be worth a punt and alot better than jenas

Jack Rodwell looks a pretty bright prospect although i dont see everton letting him go.

krasic is an attacking player not a defensive midfielder. he is more of a striker.

Yeah I agree with Veloso and Sandro.

I think Sandro's most likely at this early stage as we've clearly been chasing him for a while. There were some slight links with Veloso, and I just think he's a class act. He's really capable of taking us to the next level.
Jenas needs to go, but then again, if we got those two in, Jamie O'Hara's not going to get nearly enough football for him to want to stay here. Which is a shame because I still think he's got a lot to offer us.

I know people will probaby disagree with me over this but i would love fellaini at Everton.

His a great player to have in the CM postion Tall, Strong and one thing he does do is Bug the fook out of the away team. Thats why people dont like him but if his in your team you love it!!!

Top player imo only shame i dont think we could ever be able to afford him.
