Steven Ireland for CM spot
Mancini is said to be letting Stephen Ireland go this summer. He should definitely be on the list of players to get. He is proven in the EPL, young, and will definitely add more depth and strength to our midfield. Thoughts?

I like Ireland well enough. Probably some others I would prefer, but it could certainly be worse.

great player, one of city's best imo, they would be silly to let him go and I know enough city fans that would agree. i reckon if this is true he'll have his pick of most teams in the prem

I cant see them letting him going, with the new national players roster coming in next year city need all the english/homegrown talent they can get.

As a player, yes please! He's one of the best CM's in the league. Wages could be a problem though. Still unsure over his general attitude though.

Let Jenas go to inter and snap Ireland up. That would be a great swap.
Ireland is a player who I think would suit us and someone capable of scoring a few from CM that I feel we have missed for a while now. Only thing I don't like about him is that horrid tatto over his whole back!

Jenas out Ireland in. It makes sense but I can't see it happening. Ireland is an important player for Man City and unless they sign some expensive pre-Madonna to replace him, I can't see him going.
Would love to have him though.

He's a quality footballer but, as an Irishman, I would be a tad worried about his attitude. He can throw the odd tantrum now and again. A bit like Roy Keane, I suppose.
Maybe Harry would be just the kind of boss to keep him under control, though.

His attitude has been 2nd to none recently. He has worked really hard & I cannot believe Mancini would be daft enough to let him leave.
I don't think wages would be too much of a problem, he's not 1 of City's BIG earners but I'm dumbfounded that City would even think about him going - especially to Manchester United!
It does make me wonder tho, if there is any truth in it, as to whether there is more going on behind the scenes. If Ireland is leaving then it would suggest to me that, especially after the Hull defeat, he is disillusioned with Mancini & the City "project".
However, they said the same about Craig Bellamy & he is clearly going nowhere.
I would love Stephen Ireland at Spurs tho, he's a Tottenham type of player & I would love to see how he would fit in amongst the likes of Modric, Kranjcar, Lennon, Palacios, et al

I would love to see the Granny Killer in a Spurs jersey. Ire he's not a prize cnut. As an Irishman, I know where you are coming from though. In truth though he has had it tough. He has a great attitude for City, just not country. I think we should seriously weigh this 1 up because he is a fantastic footballer. Only problem is, he is a big earner at City, he just signed a new contract during the summer worth around 90k a week. Don't know if we could match that.

City would be dumb as hell to let him go, i doubt they will. Mancini has more sense.
Plus he's on a packet at City now too so we'd have to go over our structure unless he takes a big pay cut
But if he was available, i'd have him in an instant, brilliant player
