I'm a yank and I probably hate that kind of self-congratulatory chest-thumping nonsense even more than you. You could certainly get that out of this series, but it also focuses on individuals and their sacrifices. First episode was fantastic in my opinion.oh, ffs "thank god for america"

i know it started on hbo in the states last night,it hits sky movies in may.shady keep quiet i dont want you spoiling it for me.

I watched the first episode and I watched the entire band of brothers series all in their own right a good series. I really wish they would start doing these but with other allies that fought in the war or do one from the enemies point of view. To be honest I was kind of hoping for a Vietnam series.
It's a shame tho that in these series they will never mention all the lies behind wars in the 1900's.
Hell Id like to make a series about what would happen if the elite's funding the war somehow failed and the Nazis regrouped after Normandy and started pushing forward reaching New York in 1945 and actually taking over little by little. Wrote a paper about it in high school that won me a neat prize.
