Perhaps, but you can't have Dawson back there with only 3 defenders. Heck he has been notoriously liable with 4 in the back, let alone three. Substitute Corluka, or preferably Hutton when he is fit, for Dawson, and you absolutely HAVE to have Lennon in there. With the way he is playing, there's no way you can leave him out. He's been 90% of all created offense recently! At the moment, I'd slide him in for Bentley...

I still don't see why the 4-4-2 wont work. Our wing backs are always pushing up in attack to support the midfield and front two, therefore it's not like we aren't getting the numbers, we just are not capitalizing and that's what I cannot understand!

No!! 3-4-1-2, 3-5-2, 3-4-3 are all outdated. Nobody, including Croatia and Italy (which were known for playing 3 at the back), plays that system anymore. Why? Because you get overloaded on the flanks.
