I see a lot of similarities to ardilles in modric, only time will tell if he has the same impact, and gains the same level of affection ossie had. Signs look promising so far tho.

Did anyone else spot which number Ossie was wearing for Argentina in the above footage? Weird

Also, listen to Bobby Charlton at the end of the vid. How apt!

the number 1 for ossie came from argentina numbering alphabeticalley for that world cup
The first year it was introduced in England Charlton used alphabetical order. Stuart Balmer wore #1.

I remember watching spurs play the pikeys at upton park back in about '87 i think and Ossie was unbelievable. He took them on almost single handedly and ran rings round them. The pikeys couldn't get anywhere near him. It was one of the most memorable displays of football i've ever seen.
      Genuine spurs legend.

There is a very good documentary about the extraordinary, for that period, transfer of 2 argentinian players to England. Our club, always one step ahead brought Ardiles and Villa to the Lane. Their story, their time in the Lane, the difficulties when the war at the Falklands started and many more.
It's called "From Pampas to the Lane".
I downloaded it from a private tracker (free registration needed) called thebox.bz. I thing every true yiddo must have this documentary in his hard drive.

Ossie Ardiles the man that turned the legendary Bob Marley into a Spurs fan.
      Outmost RESPECT!
      Can't smile without you!
