I did not know if it was possible, but the dream of an African tottenham is coming true.
here is an imaginary interview i created for the occasion:
hello all. i am here with jermaine jenas of aston villa and gareth bale of tottenham hotspur here to talk about their spurs teammates and the recent upswing in tottenham's form in the barclay's african premier league.
bale: hi
jenas: *grin*
i am sure the first question everyone is having is: what is the difference between the african premier league and the regular premier league
bale: well, basically, its like the premier league, only with a large african mural replacing the usual adboards. luis suarez thought it would be a great way to combat racism in england
jenas: indeed, it was the will of the gods. the african premier league also incorporates african dancing after each goal.. if you do not dance properly you will receive a yellow card. also if you are not african you automatically receive a yellow card.
jermaine, for many years, you were regarded as the most african player in tottenham history. how does it feel to have been eclipsed by luka modric
jenas: will luka is a great player, hes got great feet, great ability, also to be honest i am more swedish than african. i switched my allegiance from zaire to sweden when i discovered that zaire was no longer a country
gareth, for many years, you have had to deal with accusations that you were not african enough to play in the barclays african premier league. in fact, there were questions as to whether or not you should automatically receive a red card for showing up to an african premier league game. how have you responded to these allegations
bale: naturally, being a welshman, ive had a tough time proving that im african enough for the premiership, but ive had a lot of support from the gaffer, also i have been watching a lot of japanese television, apparently japan is exactly like africa, so this has helped. also emmanuel adebayor has let me borrow several documentaries about his native country
jermaine, do you feel you can justify representing tottenham in this interview despite the fact that you currently play on loan at aston villa?
jenas: absolutely, i don't think anyone questions my tekkers. also everyone is remembering all the magnificent goals i scored, and my integral role in our run to the champion's league knockout stages. villa got me on loan in an effort to push for the premier league title, even if it means beating spurs along the way
thank you very much, more information from tottenham hotspur: africa edition coming soon in tottenham's run to the barclay's african premier league title
ps not trying to be racism against africa, firmly tongue in cheek, also sorry for hurting feelings of jenas
