My girlfriend is a big Barca fan because she sucks, so I have to hear a lot about the club and how great they are. Everytime we get to talking about it I remind her how lopsided the Spanish league is. It's to the point where she won't even tell me the score in their games unless it's close, like last weekend. Anyways, I found this article that's somewhat related and thought I'd share it, hoping to get some thoughts from the rest of you.
The revolution will not be televised - how disparity in TV rights is making Barcelona & Real Madrid richer & the poor poorer in Spain - Goal.com
I'm glad the EPL is much more balanced, even if only two or three clubs realistically have a chance of winning the league. Also, outside of the Manchester clubs v the north London clubs you don't see the hugely lopsided scorelines you tend to see in Real/Barca games.

It's inherently wrong that "the big two" get such a large piece of the cake compared to the remainder of the league. I have said many many times that I refuse to watch La Liga because it's about as predictable as the SPL the only difference is that the players have a bit more skill.
The tv rights is one of the major problems in Spain. In the Mexican league they share the tv rights at least and even the lowest clubs go out to play and give the rich clubs a frustrating run for their money. Why can't they do this in Spain it would fix the league in a flash.

Going to a Spurs game? Why not try and meet up with a few of your fellow posters. http://www.tottenhamhotspurs.tv/forum/meets/
Maybe Levante or Malaga will earn a bit more this year seeing as they are showing that there maybe a team caperble of closing the gapA few good sides coming up in the Spanish league.
even if the tv money was spread evenly in spain real and barca would make boatloads more than the rest, and thats fine. they should be able to go out and make their money, but they need to give something to help keep the rest of the league afloat.
