Former Premier League star Matt Le Tissier has admitted he once tried - and failed - to scoop £10,000 in an on-the-field betting scam. The Southampton legend, 40, revealed he deliberately tried to kick the ball out of play in a match in 1995.

It happens in all sports i am sure... I was on holiday in Cyprus one year and my old man had contacts who had a couple of horses racing that day... yeah we won cos the race was rigged...lol... the betting system out there is not like over here... bet on 3 races and the first 2 races come in...you can claim the winnings before the 3rd race is run... that was one of the ways the scam went to hide any dodgy dealings... the way they saw it was u had a bet on 3 races and chickened out the last one... I was well happy with my £800...

I think Letis had gone down in my estimations because of this.

He was one of those sheraesq players that stayed and played for their club even when the big guns called.

i dont mind le titssier as he always seems to be kind to spurs......cant help thinking this was a silly move tho admitting this....
gotta say tho it is funny how this guy scored spectacular goals for fun yet couldnt even hit the ball out for a throw in.....fate maybe...!
