Sports bulletin on the news show on at the moment- "Great news for England - Luka Modric has broken his leg!" - and we are forced to pay a licence fee for these twats!
I could see how people would think that if this game was the decider, but we only need 1 more points to qualify... a bit OTT.
"You score goals as a kid. Then you grow up stupid and become a goalkeeper."
I can see some non-Spurs fans thinking the same thing but it it something a national broadcaster should be gloating about?
"Great news for fans of [whichever team it was] as most of the Manchester United's first team have been killed in an air crash at Munich. Fans of [whoever] must be looking forward to an easy 2 points on Saturday" - not sure that would have been the style of journalism back then!
Sorry to harp on -been depressed all day that such a bright start is now threatened by our playmaker suffering such an injury - with Man U & Chelsea coming up after the international break too!!! - and then hearing some idiot gloating about it on the radio!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pissed me off more than a bit!
Yeah I completely understand your point, I agree that it shouldn't be said in the way that it was. Still, from an England fans perspective it is good news (though whether he played or not should not of affected our qualification).
You can look at it in a way of praise, as it shows how good a player he is that his absence will make it easier for us, still, it could of been phrased differently.
"You score goals as a kid. Then you grow up stupid and become a goalkeeper."
Yeh - the couple of people I've been chatting to online have said "so what". Can imaginw it will be the same at work when I return on Tuesday
Just seems like someone up there doesn't like us! We just see that glimpse of glory and then it's pulled away.
Luka was my player of the year last season, and I can't see more than half a dozen players in Europe can perform at his level in this role!
I should get out more![]()
There are some complete Twats on that radio station.
Talk complete boll*cks half the time.

5 live is a pretty crap radio station tbh i only listen to it when im in the car and spurs are on, Even there commentators ar ****e lol.
I don't think anyone should take pleasure in a players injury regardless of who they play for. If you feel you can't beat a team with that player in it, then you should respect that players quality not celebrate their injury.
I completely agree with you! Nobody should be happy for somebody else's misery just because it will make the job easier.
But I disagree that our ambitions are doomed and finished. Yes, it is a serious blow and a disadvantage in the crucial matches against two top teams.
But it is also an opportunity for someone else to shine (maybe not to replace Luka but at least to provide well for the forwards) Also is opportunity for the whole team to show that We are Great team (in which I have always believed) and missing a player, no matter who he is, will not stop our quest for glory.
So far we did great in every game - beat a top side, won away, came from behind and scored with the last shot of the match.
Now we face a new handicap but I am sure we will overcame it and when Luka is back we still going to be close to the top.

I don't care if it's my most hated player on my most hated team... I never wish for an injury, big or small. You should gain no pride in beating a team if you don't get their best crack in certain situations, plus it's just not fun to see someone in so much pain doing something they love
last time when cro beat england eduardo was supposed to be croatias best player and he was out and people said they got no chance. this time its modric. i cant believe this he was doing so good for us, top of the league 4 games in..
just read this..
Harry Redknapp: Tottenham Losing Modric Is Like Liverpool Losing Gerrard - Goal.com
its true though, our game goes through modric but we still have lennon. hopefully knowing modric is out the rest of the team works harder which i know will happen. mYbe pick up kranjcar or vdv.
Talksport is the way forward lads!![]()
when eduardo broke his leg they all wished him a speedy recovery , even spurs fans were on there wishing him wel regardless what team u play for u shouldt be happy if a player has a serious injury , if they said that about eduardo they would have been sacked for sure its just because eduardos looked a lo worse and is a worse injury
