Hi,
Former Tottenham midfielder Edgar Davids believes Spurs and other premier league clubs like Aston Villa, Everton and Tottenham face a struggle to break into the top 4 this season.
He told Sky Sports News:
"In the beginning a lot of teams are top of the table but you have established teams, like Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and so on,They always manage to come out on top because that is what they do.It's very very hard for other teams to establish themselves among those teams."
I think that spurs will manage to break into the "top 4" this season.
What do you all think?
I think he knows what he is talking about![]()
i think its a load of Bullsh*t
Because he was talkin about Liverpool being class, they have lost 2 matches already edgar!
cant see them in the top 4 this year persoanlly.

3 games in and the pundits are tipping us for top 4. I think we're in a batter position than we've been in for donkeys years, even when MJ got us to 5th. Palacios, King, Lennon, Modric, Defoe are vital to us, i think we also have more cohession than when Berba was around. there's a spirit there, and i think there's a belief. IMHO we've got good cover in every position although loosing JOH will weaken us a little as he was so versatile. Odviosuly reasons for the loan, maybe another signing before tuesday. If we can get more from Bale & Bentley we've got every chance of Top 4. David's makes a valid point, its tough to break the stranglehold but we've got the best 4 striker set-up in the league, i think we've got the best right winger and one of the top3 holding midfielders in the league, plus right now we've got the top scorer.
Lets enjoy it for as long as it continues, we'll have our bad results, we'll upset certain players over the course of the season but which team won't.
Harry and the Staff have done a remarkable job, we've got a balance, weve got a + goal difference and we're top of the league. Happy Days. COYS
i think that spurs are going to be in the top 6 this year...
i can see into future:
1. chelsea
2. arsenal
3. liverpool
4. scum
5. manchester city
6. spurs
and if we keep all the vital players in the team next year we could be in the top 4...
and in 3 years time: on the top of the Europe, hehe...
Que sera sera
Whatever will be, will be,
We're going to Wembley
If they get top 6, I will be happy, but, with there start they are capable of being even higher. Lets hope the good times keep rolling.
We have a decent team and good back up, so no reason why we shouldn't be knocking on the door of the top 4.
man city 5 th ? you dont work for the press lol
He makes sense, its usually the way it happens but this year Spurs just seem like a top 4 club... playing great stuff, have brilliant strengh in depth and have a great manager to keep the players on top of there game. Edgar, don't knock our chances.... or we'll get keano on you!![]()
Come off it we will finish higher than city dont be fooled by their over hyped squad ffs!
As for us well i think top 4 is slightly over optimistic this year but who knows eh, the trouble is Davids is right the same top4 always find em selfs back there when the final whistle is heard.
We have a good squad, great cohesion. We had a brilliant start to the season. Last year, i think about 8 games into the season there was a young lad who was ribbed at school about spurs, and I could hear the tears when he asked on this site whether we would be relegated. well the season was turned around and we nearly defended the CC. So for me its very early days yet, and I am optimistic for a great season and and maybe league champs (grinning), but realistically top 6. But its going to be very close this year. COYS
With regard to the "xperts" like Edgar, who I liked as a player, the least said the better. I think they are judged on their predictions and most of them will play it safe in their predictions. Some of you might know Sean Dundee, south african born who had a 1 season (3 game) stint with Liverpool. Before our game against Liverpool, he did not give Spurs a chance, but after the game he was talking as if we are potential champions. Maybe he is a better prophet than player COYS
We tried to sign Davids years before he actually came to the lane , but at the time he said that we had no ambition because we were selling our best players and had no chance of becoming a top 4 side . It would seem he is copying his last rant by saying that we cant get in the top 4 again so his opinion hasn't changed the only thing different from that is he has come and gone .
I'm not surprised he is having another pop though after we brought back the player that "parked him up" on the training ground . He obviously cant see past that incident and its showing in his remarks .
the carling cup is ours this year.....
i think it`s good thing that we do not play in europe this season, so we can now be focused on the premiership, fa cup, and carling cup...
Que sera sera
Whatever will be, will be,
