New contract for Jamie


Jamie O'Hara has signed a new contract, committing his future to the Club until 2013.
The midfielder made his First Team debut in December 2007 at Portsmouth and has since made 56 appearances, scoring seven goals.

I'm glad as he is really starting to come on leaps & bounds.

I was a little nervous that we might lose him, what with all the Fulham/Hull/Pompey connections in the press but I guess that, if he does join Pompey on loan, he will definitely return to Spurs.

I think he's earned it personally. Now we just need to get Modric & Lennon tied to new contracts

Very disappointed to see Jamie O going out on loan to Portsmouth.

As a young player his previous loan periods - particularly with Millwall - have advanced his progress as intended to the stage where (I feel) he has become an integral part of the first team squad.

Not the first name on the team sheet - but in my eyes he'd be the first name on the bench.

He's played left back, left midfield and holding role in centre midfield for us, and with Zakora gone who is going to provide cover for Wilson Palacious - whose style of play is more than likely to give rise to suspension?

If we are to continue at the current level of form we need this "steel" in midfield and Jamily O provides the only cover that I can see!

Great that he has signed for a further 4 years anyway!!!!

So odd that he signs a new contract then goes out on loan immediately, surely if he is not an integral part of the suad now he never will be?

imo when he comes back he will be a much improved player. I can imagine he will get a lot of first team games at pompey. Also i thing giving him a new contract is a great move, and at only 22 he has bags of potential.

I think the extended deal is to re-inforce the fact to everyone, including JOH, that this is just a short loan spell and won't result in his departure from Spurs.
Though I was sure he signed an extension the day after the CC Final?

There's a rumour that Pompey would only stump up the £4m for KPB if they could also take JoH on loan also. That might explain why we've gone for it but this will massively work in our favour. Jamie will get plenty of Prem experience there but he also won't be allowed to play against us. This means that, when we meet Pompey, they'll have to change the core of their starting XI to copensate which won't help them. It also gets some wages of our bill for a few months, we get Jamie back just in time to start our FA Cup run & we can always call him back sooner if we really need to

Still thin this leaves us exposed in certain areas, Harry must have something up his sleeve?

Getting 4m for 'the prince' is a god send.
