Looks promising for the future:
Tottenhamhotspur.com - News Articles - TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR FOOTBALL CLUB AND SPORT CLUB INTERNACIONAL (INTER) ANNOUNCE STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP
Similar to what we have with the Earthquakes in America?
"You score goals as a kid. Then you grow up stupid and become a goalkeeper."
This hopefully is part of the deal to bring Sandro to the Lane![]()
"Modric could play in any team in the world in my opinion, he's a fantastic footballer, top, top class."
Internacional have produced some great players (Dunga, Pato, Nilmar, Lucio, Falcao), so could be interesting. I still don't see how Sandro would come to Spurs just yet tho as this partnership will still not make it any easier to get a work permit.
However, what it might mean is that, if Sandro starts to realise his potential & becomes a fixture in the Brazilian national team, we might get 1st dibs. Brilliant bit of business if that does turn out to be the case
King and Bongani,
King and Bongani bong!!
(watch out here they come!)
Will we stay or will we go now?
Will we stay or will we go now?
If we go there will be trouble
and if we stay we'll do the double
So Levy has got let us know
Will we stay or will we go!
Rafael, Van Der Vaart
ƒuck Chelsea & Frank Lampard
with a nick-nack paddywhack he'll be getting goals
when Lampard's too fat & old

Lets hope they continue to produce some Brazil internationals
Lets hope they produce another Pato pretty soon![]()
bass; the kid has just been called up to the brazil team as josue has pulled out with an ankle injury. he's more or less on the verge of being able to make a move.
Doesnt it need to be 75% of internationals to get a WP though? What are the legislations regarding that?
im wondering about united's signings - possebon, da silva brothers, anderson and so on. if they could manage to obtain work permits without playing for the brazil national first team surely sandro can?
This relationship will help make the Sandro deal possible in the future as mentioned.
Sandro wont be signed this window but in the distant future we shuld see him at the lane![]()

What clubs did they come from though? If it was another in Europe then theres different rules I think. If it's coming direct from Brazil I thought it had to be 75% of the Internationals in the calendar year. We could sign him and then loan him back, like Utd do with some of their signings.

Possebon for a start was from internacional. Rafael and Fabio both from Fluminense. Anderson came from Porto so I guess that one can be scratched up. Those three in particular though had good starting berths in the under-20s for Brazil, much like Sandro who now finds himself being called up to the Brazil 1st XI, to replace Wolfsburg's Josue, who is suffering from a ankle injury. Whether there is some kind of variation in the rule relating to under-20 national appearances is something that should be looked into. I wouldn't write this one off quite yet.

I know the boy has been called up to Dunga's squad but he is a LONG way off being a proper Brazil international & probably won't even get a start here any way. He'll need many, many more proper caps than just a single squad call-up to be legible for a British work permit!
Possebon has an Italian dad (I think he has chosen even to represent Italy instead of Brazil also) & was therefore legible for an Italian passport. That is actually a route that many Argentine's take however, even without such a close connection, as Italian nationality is far easier to claim for them & it gives them a automatic route into the European leagues.
Anderson came via Porto as you've already said
As far as I know, the Da Silva's were signed as youth players & were unable to play for United until their 18th birthdays. They were then elligible to sign their pro contracts in England, presumably because they had made the move at such an early stage of their career.
Sandro is already 20, so a situation similar to the Da Silva twins would not work either.

True enough; but Possebon and the da Silva brothers weren't full internationals when they secured moves from Brazil to Manchester Utd. They like Sandro had only appeared in under-20 for their national teams. Just wondering how they made it over if Sandro wouldn't be able to?
Edit: Interesting call; the system itself seems a bit messed up if thats the case. But I guess it is in the interest of Brazil to keep the talent in Brazil at that age to keep a fair amount of quality domestically. The news that we've hooked up with Internacional as a feeder club will only bring good things to the club though.

Like I said, Possebon's dad is Italian & has therefore always held an Italian passport & does not need a work permit.
I don't know about the Da Silva's case but I know that, when they 1st signed for United, they were very young & weren't allowed to kick a ball for their new team until they had turned 18. There is probably some rule that, because they signed so young & then moved into United's 1stXI from the Youth team, they were allowed permits. They certainly had to wait over a year before they could play for United, altho they were in England for that year. It is probably similar to being a foreign student.
Sandro's case is different. He is too old to come in as a youth player &, as far as I know, does not have duel nationality. As such, the only way he can sign is by playing regular international football, which he has not yet achieved
