King held on assault charge

Ledley King has been arrested, charged with the suspicion of ABH outside a nightclub. This isn't the 1st time Ledley has got himself in trouble on a night out & I'm sure Harry won't be best pleased, I just hope its being blown out of proportion.

England footballer Ledley King has been arrested outside a nightclub in central London on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm, the BBC understands.

The Tottenham Hotspur captain had played in the club's Premier League game against Everton on Saturday.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of ABH following an allegation of assault by a man in his 20s."

He said the man was arrested in Soho Street at about 0230 BST.

The spokesman said: "The 28-year-old man remains in custody. Charing Cross CID are investigating.

"The man was arrested after a routine patrol was flagged down."

Mr King has 19 international caps and was in the England squad for the 2004 European Championship. He has appeared more than 250 times for Tottenham and played the whole 90 minutes of the team's 0-0 draw with Everton on Saturday.

Well, let's not send him to the executioner just yet. I will wait to see just how this pans out but, until they say 100% & without doubt that he did something wrong, King will be innocent in my eyes.

The only problem for him is that he has been known to have had problems before on night's out & that will work against him. ABH is a very serious charge, it can carry jail time depending on the conviction.

Probably a dirty paparazzi trying to snap him outside a nightclub again. I'd imagine Ledders wouldn't appreciate that much, especially if he was a gooner!

I have to say, it sounds a little bit OTT. The guy didn't even receive treatment so, altho he's being held on ABH, I think its nothing. These things happen in Soho all the time & whist Ledders should know better, it is so easy to get caught up in nonsense down there.

Your making many presumptions including that Gerrard got away with something! Maybe he didn't do it and likewise for Ledley.
Ledley always looks a cool character on the pitch. Can't believe he would hit someone.

I am sick and tired of reading/hearing about players falling out of night clubs and fighting specially when its Spurs players in the news, Ledley King is a disgrace to the club hes the captain FFS and this is how he represents the club off the pitch then.
I hope Harry fines him maximum wages and bans every player the right to visit a club while the season is on, hes an utter disgrace and i dont care if it is King that just make sit worse being one of my hereos as we could all see Bentley or Jenas getting up to this due to their general crap attitude.
Its almost accepted this is the norm when it should be seen as a complete slur on the club.

If this is all proven correct then i stand by my words that he has let us all down.

The man at the centre of the accusations is door guard Waheed Butt, who claims they got into a row after he tried to stop King entering the club.
Butt told BBC Radio 1 this morning: "He said 'I'm a rich guy, I've got nothing to lose, I'm a big star, you, you're nothing on your £10 an hour job," ' and stuff like that."

If King did say the above, and I'm sure it would have been captured on a phone if he did, then I'll proper go off the guy. Saying things like that is plain vulgar and shows what he really thinks of all the working class fans who pay his substantial wages every week for his part time work at the club. Although that doorman's quote hardly makes sense... Surely it would be King who has everything to lose? The sentence is slightly nonsensical.


I'll reserve judgment for now, but the jury is out. Literally.

I know the fella has been a prick but bear in mind that bouncers are generally the biggest pricks you will ever meet.

This butt or what ever he is, is clearly after a buck or two talking to ssn and the press so his integrity cant be upheld and would damage his position in court.

As for Ledders being an arogant fooker like that, what do you expect, seriously what did you expect?

He is a superstar who basically has his arse wiped for him on a daily basis and gets paid to play footy at the weekend without even training.
