I keep reading articles in the press saying that Harry is looking at buying a new CB as cover for his injury prone partnership of Ledders & Woody. Now with King I fully except (as anyone would be mad not to) but I'm a little averse to saying the same about Woody.

There is no question that, throughout his career, he has had HUGE injury concerns & that when we brought him to WHL just over a years ago there was a large amount of risk attached I would also accept that this history means we will never be able to take him for granted & will always need to keep a close eye on his condition. However, I would stop well short of describing him as 'injury prone' anymore. In just over a year with Spurs he has made over 40 appearances for us, not bad by anyone's standards but incredible for a supposedly crocked player & I think it says a lot about Tottenham's medical staff as well as the player himself. He has already played in 1 year here at Spurs what he managed in over 2 at Boro & more than he managed in his entire Newcastle & Real Madrid careers combined.

Whilst it is still probably too soon to say his injuries are behind him for good, I fully believe that his career with spurs means he can no longer be considered another sick-note.

i totally agree corluka dawson and chimbonda can all play cb if needed , maybe this is setting the scene for ledders bowing out ???

I think Corluka will wind up playing CB for us eventually. We need cover on the left worse than the center. If we can get Dawson healthy, I think we're set in the middle.

the spurs medical staff have been fantastic - cos we have got two injury prone CBs - who on matchdays put in stellar performances...
Woody - how many games did he play for Real?...
Ledley..dodgy knee n still gets called up for England

HATS OFF to both the players and our medical team..

I think Woody has played more games this season then anyone thought he would if were all honest his fitness previous hasnt been great but has put in good shift for us this season, as for Harry looking for cover then im all for that because we have times where both Woody and King have been out leaving only the improved Dawson playing alongside either Huddlestone (midfielder) or Charlie who is really a right back so a new centre back would be a good move IMO.

Cant see Charli doing as decent a job in the middle in comparison to Ledders.

Ledders even crocked has a stunning turn of pace for a lump and he gets us out of trouble often with that burst of pace.

Charli at fullback is able to an extent to shepherd his opponent and force him to play to his strengths with his excelent positioning and clever footballing brain. At CB you are exposed on both sides and the attacking player has a great deal more options. This is where Charli may get show up a little as he doesn't have that rapid turn of pace tat Ledders does to get him out of trouble.

Now I fully expect our Croatian contingent to get all prickly and bang on about how he is akin to god but as much as I think he is a tremendous player and great defender his is painfully slow.

This doesn't matter most of the time as he is clever enough to cope and influence the play and his opponents so he has the upper hand but at CB he is more vulnerable.

      Crack on Croats...................

Considering his consistency this season I think that question answers itself. I have a feeling that if Daws gets more of a look-in due to injuries he'll definitely be in contention for the England squad. WC2010 may come a bit too early for him but certainly in the squad for Euro qualifiers 2012.

Before Ledley came to the fore Sol (judas ) Campbell was always the kingpin of our defense , and when the judas escariot took the silver coins , Ledley took a couple of seasons to get recognised as a replacement for our massive loss . Well i think we are going through the same sort of finding stage now , we have a mixed bag of good defenders but not one outstanding newcomer to set us up for a great decade - strange words i know , but fergie turned down rio for £17 mil and had to pay £23 mil a year later = thats why when they want a player they just go and get him . We need to get our new kingpin defender and keep him , i dont think woodgate is that player , but he is quality , so i'll settle for that . As for te sicknote tag to woodgate , i was under the impression that he got that tag whilst abroad , but i dont see it in his playing days in England

dont get me wrong i really rate Daws and think he is a very good CB, i just think he needs to have a strong defensive partner to show this at times, when he partnered for almost an entire season with King I think he showed how good he can be. England, not so sure.

Daws is young and is still learning. He had a beast last year and start of this to an extent but he will come good. You cant help but be a better player playing alongside Ledders and Woody!!!

I would like Micha Richards though as he is versatile and is of the same ilk as Judas and King. Failing that..................Bepe please!!!
