Milan boss confident of beating Spurs to sign Beckham by end of the year

Carlo Ancelotti is confident David Beckham will snub a move to Tottenham by signing for AC Milan on a permanent basis before the end of the year.
Beckham was meant to return to the Los Angeles Galaxy last month, but the Rossoneri struck a deal with the MLS side to extend the 33-year-old's short-term loan deal at the San Siro until the end of the Serie A campaign.
The unique 'timeshare' agreement will then see Beckham return to America for the rest of the MLS season at which point another stint at the Italian giants has been mooted.

Tottenham are also interested in the England midfielder but Ancelotti believes he will be back at the San Siro next January.
'Beckham will return to the United States and will stay there until the end of his contract, which expires in November,' the Milan boss told newspaper Il Messagero. 'Then Milan will buy him in the winter transfer market.
'David has proved himself to be an exemplary professional and I honestly didn't expect him to play at such a high level.'
In fact, Beckham has two more years to run on his contract, but can leave in November, with or without LA's permission.
