harry redknapp / sorry harry houdini redknapp has done a wonderful job of turning our season around 6 weeks ago we were looking relegation square in the eye .
now the spurs faithful are daring to look to the future and discuss the direction we are going . Harry has full control of the transfer kitty whatever that is , as a spurs supporter are you looking forward to a settled season with a settled manager ?
the new season brings a lot of positives no sporting director - a settled experienced management team - a team that can actually defend .
now that harry has turned us around and he has full control of a huge club what is he going to do ? will the board continue to feed the top 4 with our best talent ? or will arry have the swingers to say no .
i am not interested in were tottenham will finish next season !!! that is a discussion for pre season this thread is about the management and directors of our great club , have they learned anything from their mistakes ?
"The great fallacy is that the game is first and foremost about winning. It's nothing of the kind. The game is about glory. It's about doing things in style, with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom."
-Danny Blanchflower
if we play to our ability next season i think we can finish in the top 6 and bring a trophy back to white hart lane
although there can be no doubting our progress under redknapp, i still think we have some problems. Our form away from home has been poor for too long now, it needs adressing - if we are to challenge consistant, solid teams like everton, we need to be consistant ourselves.
i sure hope we've learned from our mistakes, but i am VERY excited about the prospect of having harry in charge of all trannsfers over the full course of the summer and im sure we'll see some gems.
I would like to get in the top 5 next year. Pitseleh your right our away games haven't been strong.
tottenham always in my hearthttp://www.youtube.com/user/ssfc302
Next season is gonna be tougher than ever cos you got villa & everton fighting for europe with strong teams ..west ham building for the future ..& not forgetting man city who will be trying to break into top 4 or winning the league along with the big 4 as per usual.
I can see tottenham getting in the top 5 but they gotta start strong & keep up the standard for the whole season & hopefully players being injury free .
i think levy has learned his lessons now...
i think there will be a few in's and a few out's but i dont forsee a massive change of personel. if we want to challenge the top 4 then we need some quality.
dare i say it a left winger, a new left back. and a crapload of training to get the rest of them functioning correctly all the time, instead of this hodge podge of form we have, we need to work on consistancy more than anything else!
im hoping there wont be a mass clearout again...we got away with it this season but next season we may not be so lucky. "mass clearouts" are for despirate clubs not clubs who are meant to finish in the top 6. one thing that worries me is whether or not the fa will come knocking on harry's door once they finnaly boot crapello and we will be back to square one.
"It's about getting the best out of the lads and confidence. Life is about confidence. Whatever you do in life, if you are not confident you don't perform. It's up to me to get the confidence running through the players and if I can get that instilled you'll see a team that will really play." - Harry Redknapp - 29/10/2008
and depth, which is exactly why I don't think you'll see a big offloading of players. I think we'll be buyers this summer, and so far, our moves under this regime have been pretty good- Palacios has been a key figure in our revival, and I really think Keane has been a good presence. I really hope we hang on to Pavlyuchenko, Im sure we'll get plenty of offers. I still don't think Bent will stick around, but with his recent form, we could probably get a good price for him. Same goes for Jenas, whose stock has risen in the last few weeks.
Im going to wait it out and see everything needs to be worked out and made solid from goalkeeping all the way forward I really do not rely on certain players being part of team"salvation" or "revival" if we want to make it in the top next season we need discipline and trust among our players when we have that everything else will come together.
I Thought this season was going to be a turning point but things didnt work out - as per usual round here !!
It will be great to get this one behind us, get our injuries sorted out, get Bentleys head sorted out, get rid of Bent and get in another goal scorer. I'm not really bothered about the Europa cup but a lot of our squad will be sat on their ar*es and I cant see many being happy about it - I hear Zoko's already bleating - so I expect a minor clearout in the close season.
I just hope Harry buys wisely - Becks would be a coup? - and we get off to a good start.
Fingers crossed as per usual !!!!
COYS!
