What Im thinking just as a matter of curiousity, would there be anyway in which the rest of the league could breakaway from the top four and make their own league!
Every single week, the top four are getting results handed to them (particularly Man United) due to referees bottling big decisions.
Im not just thinking of the match at the weekend, Im thinking of the decisions that have cost teams so dearly over the whole year.
Looking back, it seems to be nearly all games involved Man United there is a decision that goes for them...
West Brom game they were struggling, Paul Robinson gets sent off and Utd go on to win it comfortably, the decision was even resinded. Not saying West Brom would have beat them, but a draw might of helped them get out of the relegation battle.
Look at the Villa game at Anfield, Brad Freidel stands his ground, Torres jumps into him to win a penalty, harsh yes...Freidel getting sent off, a joke. This effectively ended the game for Villa and another 3 points to Liverpool. Oh and not forgetting, his red card was also resinded.
That is a few examples in a long list of things and its getting to the stage where many fans are gettng sick of watching the sport as it seems the teams with money and power are gettting everything for them. There seems to be a fear to upset them and their managers!
This comes from the top...Premier League/FA and they are the ones that employ the referees who are in charge of the games, they are the people that decide if a player should have been sent off etc, they decide who they wish to fine whether it be a manager or a player!
It seems to me that they are all for the big teams but when things go against the smaller clubs,a blind eye is turned!
Im suggesting a break away league where everything will be fair and even for all teams playing in it and these dodgy decisions will be cut out and a new structure should be set up that caters for all teams not just 3 or 4 that happen to generate the most money.
There are so many arguments that things go well for the top 4...most recently Ryan Giggs being named PFA player of the year. If he played for Bolton or Blackburn he would never have been in the running. Look at players like Ireland, Jagielka, Hangeland, Arteta, Lennon, even Bent has scored quite a few, the list goes on, they have all performed better than Giggs and because they dont play for a top four team, they will never get a decent opportunity, of kors if they play well, one of the big 4 snaps them up and they then become great players!!!
The debate about England players aswell springs to mind as there seems to be an attitude, if you play for a team in the bottom half of the table, you wont really get a look in! I know there are exceptions to this but there are players that shoud be in the squad on merit, not just because who they play for.
The whole issue of diving, Ronaldo, Torres, Drogba, Fabregas, Walcott, even Gerrard at times has got to the stage where players are conning the refs every week, what is being done about it ...absoulutely nothing!
Oh and by the way..the Wembley pitch is currently being relayed again, I know it needed to be done but they went even going to do it due to the fact that there will be so many games coming up with the Playoffs and Cup Finals etc being played in a short time. What happened, Arsene Whinger and Rednose complained and the FA said 'how high' within a week of them shouting 'jump'.
I could sit here for hours listing everything that is wrong with football in England, but I wont! I know alot of fans and not just us Spurs supporters are angry and upset due to the fact that nothing seems to go their way!

Not going to happen... those 4 teams bring a lot of money into the league. Every team would be hurt financially not having those 4 in their league.
Stupid post and what your basically saying is that Spurs will never ever compete for the top four but possibly shine in an inferior league set up....................great!
The top 4 dont get it all their way its just not true, it only appears this happens becuase they indeed are the best in the Prem and are in the spot light so much.
What i want to see is Spurs actually compete for the top four and not in some diluted league that would have us do.

sorry mate but these are exactly the types of games i look forward too to see how well we do against teams better than ourselves and hopefully get to a stage were we are competing agaisnt them for one of them top 4 spots!

They do hold a financial monopoly on the EPL.
Thats why the FA wont consider taking them out of the EPL and forming a breakaway league.

Its all about money amd them 4 have too much for the FA to ignore.
What is needed is some fresh blood at the top table of the FA and the Premier League.

i agree with thfc shady we want the top 4 to stay i think we can compete wth them we have proved this season we have played liverpool beat them twice chelsea drew with them and beat them the scum drew twice we only beat by the mancs what deos that tell you we will be up there next season they have to stay
Obviously it would never happen but its getting to a stage that it could be costing teams millions for relegtion etc.
We would have beaten ManUre havent it of been for Howard Webb and sure what if we were going for that 4th Champions League spot and it had of happened of the last day of the season!

this is a crazy idea !!! we have top 4 aspirations , if we do not have this to aspire to then what do you have ? tottenham could indeed break into the top 4 its just a question of when .
