I don't really want to get into a huge discussion over Man United but I had to get this off of my chest at the same time.

Their win today makes them look set to retain their title but for me I find it really difficult to accept that outcome. I usually could not give a toss about United but their 2009 championship challenge just makes me feel sick & today's game sums up their season nicely in 1 match. They don't deserve to win.

They have not played like champions all season & yet they have come out on top every-time. What really, really drives me nuts tho is their smugness & it was there in all its glory once again today.

We were by far the better side over 60-65 minutes. We were beaten over a 10min spell where the referee decided he was wearing red instead of black & instead of behaving honourably, United start showing off & mocking us. It was disgusting & it is these idiots that are going to win the Premier League.

People say that the sign of champions is to be able to win when you're not playing well & I would agree. However, that statement is supposed to imply an ability to shut players down, work hard & do the ugly side of the game so that you can ride out your lack of form until you start playing well. It is NOT supposed to mean that you don't bother closing people down, give the ball away & not track back properly & you are not supposed to be like that ALL SEASON!

United have been asking teams to put them to the sword for ages & it looked as tho we were finally about to do that. They've lived off of the2 defenders & the 'team' has been poor & we were showing them how it should be done. They were really bad & after they went ahead from 3 fortuitous goals they showed not an ounce of humility when they should have been damn right embarrassed that they needed a referee to get them out of the whole they were in.

When they lift that trophy at the end of this season they'll be celebrating as if they are the best team to walk this planet but teams across Europe will be looking at the way they've played this season & they will be laughing at us.

When I think of the great teams to have lifted that trophy, even the United of last season, it makes me sick to think this bunch will have their names alongside them. Liverpool are by a country mile the more worthy title winners, just as we were the more worthy winners in today's game, & United will get their way just the same. I just hope that Liverpool don't give up like we appeared to.

The papers tomorrow will all talk of 'amazing' United score 5 & a 'stunning' fightback but few will really say that Tottenham were by far the better 'team', United profited from either the referee or the performance of just 2 or 3 players & that 5-2 is as an unjust a result as United's eventual winning of the title over Liverpool.

couldn't agree more. the monopoly these guys have over referees at old trafford is absolutely ridiculous...felt physically sick watchin the highlights, and is it just me or was that michael carrick appealing for the penalty, throwing his arms around when he obviously knew gomes got the ball, little toerag

question... Did Ronaldo get booked for taking off his shirt and throwing it into the crowd after he scored?

If not, why not...is that not a bookable offence?

Clearly shows how the refs turn a blind eye to what the Manure players do like the foul on Lennon by Ronaldo...clear booking, but the ref gave nothing again. Ronaldo should have been off if the ref was playing fair today.

One of the main things that I got to get off my chest and most of you will agree with me Ronaldo should shut up! He is not the best player in the world not even by a longshot I WOULD LOVE for Barcelona to meet MU and have Messi run circles around Ronaldo. I agree with your points but the fact is we still lost and we have to take it and keep our heads up.

Spot on about Messi, but not just Messi- Barca have so many weapons, and I would love to see them shred ManU in the final. I think Manu have a day of reckoning coming. I hope its not against Arsenal, obviously, but I'd love to see them get humiliated against Barcelona. Assuming barca get by chelski of course

Well I mainly centered Messi because of the similarities on the field but to be honest with you Ronaldo should not have won player of the year that should of gone to Rafael Marquez"not just because Im Mexican but he really had a golden year with Barca" or it should of gone to Messi more to Messi than Marquez that is why I hope Messi runs circles around him and really sticks it to him.

Ferguson never praises other teams, he`s just so far up his own ar*e, and oblivious to other teams. And persistently ****ging Benitez off.

Manchester United, for me, is the perfect example of what happens when you put winning above everything, even integrity. This is the one thing that always puts me off sports and that has put me off the Manure years ago. They should not feel ashamed because I don't consider then a sports club and haven't for years. They are a corporation now. Hope to God they pull of an Enron or Leeds or any corporate meltdown and just get the hell out of my sight!

All of this is so true, but hey, i had my brother over for the 1st match this season, and he was so confident about beating us, and my wife said, im guessing ur gonna be winning in the 50-60th mn and then something "weird" is gonna happen, such as penalty, red cards, bad fouls, off side goals. She aint the footy person but watches spurs as i love em so much. At the time she says it ur like yeh maybe honey, yes it's happenned so many times, it cant happen again
      Guess what it did.
Even before the penalty decision, Webb dished out 3 yellow cards very quickly to our side to the players that where working their socks of during that match, URD where getting FK's for ronaldo, where there was no foul, once they realised the ref was on their side they went flat out and fell every shot missed, every pass not accurate and hen the pen came.
      Then the offside ruling came.
Then the goal on the line came.
After the 3rd goal they just down right did not respect us and where "toying" with us. They where full on confidence and we where destroyed mental wise.
I mean let alone u'r playing in the biggest stadium in prem, one of the biggest sides in prem, the best manager in the prem, winning 2-0 against a "world class" team, you now have to try and beat the officials.
I just think this is disgusting, plain wrong, and this is how utd are gonna lift the cup...We will probs beat pool aswell just to help them on their way.
      Man im so pissed
Coooome oooon yoooou spuuuurs, cooome ooon yooou spuuurs.

Does anyone feel put off by actually watching the EPL???

I know that sounds far-fetched but todays match made me feel I would rather watch a sport like rugby, were gentlemanly conduct is the number one priority!!!

Absolute joke that it was my birthday and Manure fans where saying...haha, some birthday present that Utd beat ur Spurs 5-2!!!! I tell you what, that was not a 3 goal game and Im disgraced by the arrogance and cockyness of their fans!!!

Im angry because there is nothing being done about terrible decisions like that and it definately changed the game in their favour. We were comfortable and looked good for our 2 goal lead but again ,the pressure of 70 odd thousand home fans shouting at the ref proved too much for a coward like Howard Webb to take!!!!

After the 1st goal we didnt know what to do, either defend more or go for the 3rd, but at that stage it seemed we were never getting anything out of the game!

The top four are a joke and the refs that are in charge of their games should be monitored intensely, especially in games like this!!!

Obviously Ive had a few drinks and this rant is a bit long...but Im just annoyed that teams, not just Tottenham, dont get anything against teams like Manure away from home!!!!

A draw would have been a fair result for both teams, if not a Spurs win due to our first half performance but I suppose it was never going to happen!
In a world full of City's and United's...there is only one Hotspur

MU deserved victory. They were better side in the first half and far better side in the second. Maybe the penalty wasn`t clear enough, but the referee had reason to give a penalty kick.

I think if one side scores 5 (five!!!) in one half the other side shouldn`t blame the ref. As I said it maybe wasn`t any penalty, but surely it wasn`t any reason to stop playing.
Clarkey_THFC said: "After the 1st goal we didnt know what to do, either defend more or go for the 3rd..." and I agree with him.

errrrrr i think youve had a litle too much smirnoff this morning!!!! 1st half we dominated, howard webb wore a utd shirt under the ref top gave a penalty which in any other stadium would have been waved away......what is the reason he gave the penalty kick??? the ball clearly goes away from goal the ref cost us that game, utd in the second half got 90% of the decisions so sorry my lil russian hamster utd did not deserve victory.
go on cut me....i bleed lily white blood
