I know we've talked a lot about our Youth Team this season, they're about the greatest thing that has happened this year, other than Harry's arrival & subsequent turnaround of form. However, I just wanted to make the observation of just how exciting our midfield might be in a few years.
Between John Bostock, Ryan Mason, Andros Townsend & Dean Parrett we have a midfield to be proud of. They are all young academy players but are already holding their places in our reserve team, or for Yeovil's 1st XI in Andros's case.
We have 4 midfielders there that, in a few years time, I am actually excited about seeing lineup in our 1st team. Despite playing amongst older, more seasoned professionals in the reserve game against Stoke tonight & despite us going down to 10 men after just 10 minutes, these 4 players completely ran the game. Dean hitting 50 yard passes direct to feet & Mason killing them with his 1st touch, I'm telling you, different class! Mason scored the only goal of the game to secure the vital win & it must be said that 3 of these 4 17 year olds were our deciding factor.
Ryan just can't stop scoring. He was doing it for U18s & he's just carried on with our ressies. Bostock too is just quality & just everything goes thru him. Dean is the heartbeat & plays with so much maturity for someone who's only just turned 17 ffs! And Andros could be unstoppable down the left wing, he's full of tricks & confidence & is a joy to watch.
All 4 are similar in age & seem to have a real understanding of each other. Imagine having 4 extremely talented midfielders all come thru the youth team at the same time. Just think if they're still playing across the midfield together when they are 25 how good they'll be having played together since they were all 15! It sounds like dreamtime but I can actually see this happening with this 4 if they can keep it up.

If we go there will be trouble

So Levy has got let us know
Will we stay or will we go!

They all sound very promosing. I guess the question is whether we will be able to hang on to all 4 or them. And even if we do, will we find ourselves in a position to give them a fair run at the top level? I hope so. I'm really hoping to see more of Bostock next season.
Just how good is this Obika? Lets say we sell Bent, and keep Pav, Defoe and Keane. Could we use Obika as our fourth striker? Any striker we sign won't be happy sitting fourth in line, so maybe we should bring the young fella up?
Man Utd have Berbatov, Rooney and Tevez, and then occasionally bring up Welbeck and now Macheda.
