Alright lads/lasses, new to the forum although have read for a while!
Anyway I'm a northern Spurs fan, and I have only met one other Spurs fan from where I live (Manchester). I am only 16, and due to my Dad being a Liverpool fan (welsh scouse) I have never been to White Hart Lane . Admittedly it's bad and I suppose I should support a local team, but hey, I've just never brought myself to do it, I've always loved the Spurs.
So I'm wondering, are there any other northern spurs fans on here, or if you native Spurs have heard any in or around White Hart Lane. What do you think of them? Old fashioned northern monkeys or decent fans???
      Cheers
      Adam

Welcome where all over the place. It does not matter where u live as long as spurs is close 2 your heart that's all that matters!!!

Well that's good to know. It's quite hard to get tickets as well for Spurs at home lately, but oh well fingers crossed I'll try and make it down sometime next season.

Sorry guy, but you're way south to me.. I live north of Aberdeen but my heart lies at WHL (even though I've only managed to go a few times).

Doesn't matter where you come from, if Spurs are in your heart, they're in your heart. I get aggrieved with Southerners supporting Man United so I guess people might say I'm being hypocritical but there is a slight difference. Its easy to support United, its a cop-out. One thing that is absolutely counterfactual about supporting Tottenham is that its easy . . . its anything but. You can support a team for many reasons other than locality, altho I think its important to always have a soft spot for one of your local sides they don't HAVE to be your favourites. The team you support you have to feel a connection with & that can come from many different sources, you may like a particular player or a particular style. However, its too easy to pick a team because they always win-that's not a proper 'fan'. A 'fan' or 'fanatic' means that you have to stick with the highs AND the lows, its a rollercoaster & you cannot really do that if you're team always wins. A fanatic accepts your faults & loves you anyway. You can't really be fanatical about something that has no (or very few) faults. Therefore anyone who supports teams like United for reasons other than them being their local side or they've inherited them aren't proper fans.

However, by supporting Tottenham you are 100% a proper fan. You are not here because we always win. You HAVE to take the rough with the smooth because we DON'T always win. Its one of the great things about Spurs. We aren't a team that constantly wins. Even when we won everything, we didn't always win (if that makes sense?!?), there was always an edge. We've had 1 or 2 seasons here &there where we've destroyed anything put in front of us (mostly long before I was born) but we are equally capable of getting destroyed by anything put in front of us! You have to be determined & dedicated to stick with us & yet, all over the world, people still sing our name. It is a wonderful club, with wonderful fans, who know & appreciate good football, not just getting results. Its why we'll never be regular champions but, by god, when ever we are we don't half do it in style!!!

If we go there will be trouble
and if we stay we'll do the double
So Levy has got let us know
Will we stay or will we go!
