I've found it really interesting listening to United fans slating Berba recently. Many of them are turning on him & even the press, who once sang his praises at Tottenham, are starting to switch also.
Its funny, it p*ssed me off when pundits said, whilst Berbs was still at Spurs, how they'd love to see him play with United, how he is a 'United' player, because I genuinely could not see what they were on about. I always saw Berba as MUCH more of a Tottenham type of player, doing it in style first, & that he would struggle at United where the fans & Fergie demand a certain amount of mileage per game.
I felt that, after his successful first season with us, we understood him ad hence got the best out of him & then all this talk of United started. Someone should have said to him that the move was not going to suit him (altho I'm not sure he would've listened the arrogant g*t).
The comments United fans are making just show they don't understand him at all, calling him a waste of space. I saw that coming a mile off after his final months at Tottenham. However, he's not playing with them the way he did for us in those last few months when he truly did not give a monkeys. The problem is with United that earlier in the season he put in 1 or 2 performances reminiscent of his early days at Tottenham but instead of getting the gushing praise he would have received down the Lane, he still got called lazy by the United faithful. That £30m was far too much to pay for Berbatov because, for that money, you expect something from him he's just never going to give you.
Unfortunately for Berbatov, the 1 ground in England where he would be truly understood & accepted was the 1 place he decided to take a big dump on.

Absoultely spot on mate! He was lazy but we learnt to live with it, much like United did with Cantona, wouldnt run for 89 minutes then do something magical in the last minute! He definately was our type of player and it just shows what some players are like, moving to the so called bigger clubs for the £££ and trophies and being just another number. There was a while that he was actually keeping Tevez out of the side and he would get into anyones team. I actually think United didnt need him as it has sort of upset their rhythm so to speak. They were flying at the end of last season and now they dont really have anyone whos scoring up front every week!
In a world full of City's and United's...there is only one Hotspur
Berba was always an acquired taste- great vision, maybe the greatest first touch on the planet, but he was never going to win any extra effort rewards. The assumption that Manure fans made, and I know because I'm surrounded by them, was that SAF, being the second coming of JC, would somehow make Berbatov's workrate match his technical ability.
Now that that doesn't appear to have happened, they are ready to sh!t on him and scapegoat him when they ought to be asking why Sir Alex started the Old Trafford groundskeeping staff in an FA Cup semifinal. He's just not that kind of player, and they can't accept that SAF can't just mold a player into anything he pleases. I always thought Berba, although sometimes frustrating was a singular player- but he'll not get the same level of patience from them that we gave him. Too bad, we could have told him that ten months ago. We reap what we sow.
Berbatov is a top player but hes a balkan boyand balkan boys are very emotinal.if you start to turn on them it will efect their game.so the best thing is to give them support and they will come araund and play their best.but in the big clubs there is no time its alway about the result.he should turn back and spend his time in the club where hes loved
SAF is very protective of Berba, although i don't think the MU fans are quite as forgiving as SAF.
When you are on the bench for a 2nd XI in an FA Cup Semi. Not to encourageing really for a man with his qualities. I'm sure he is bursting full of confidence. ha!
Loved him at WHL. A shame the man got starry eyed and lost the plot.
At the end of the season, he will probably end up with winners medals. He has also got the money that he craved. What I wonder is if these things to him now seem bitter sweet. Will he be happy at the fact that he got what he wanted or will he be thinking about how idolised he was at Spurs before he shat on us??
The Berb did well down the lane cos he was a big fish in our almost big and friendly pond. I always said he wont cut it at manooo as he will not get shinging star status. He needs to have the team built around him and be beyond critisium.
and before any asks, no I would not welcome him back.... unless, he takesa year without pay.
I was chattin with my dad the other day after the Man U game , and i jokingly said that i think he's got himself a new Hairdryer . I dont think he likes bein shouted at - cos you can guarantee thats whats happenin . What was that penalty about
wen he signed for man u all i heard from the fans was that fergie would get him to put in the work rate....they never listened wen i tried to tell them that thats not wat hes about and he will never put in the rooney or tevez work in a game......those united fans are listening now!
Oh - you want me to watch my mouth, how?
Take my ****in eyeballs out, and turn em around?
When he joined United I tipped him to be this seasons top scorer. What an idiot. 8 goals doesn't even put him in the top 20.
Lets be fair, Fergie was due a big signing to go tits up (Veron, Forlan, Tiabi).
Maybe it's Berba's time.

besides the fact that most manure fans know squat about football, the media never fail to suprise me with their stupidity - less so that, than peoples willingness to accept and digest what they read in the rags.. i loved berba when he was at spurs, he oozed class, and like bass said, he was the perfect match for spurs.
the fact that he is languid was blatently obvious to anyone who'd watched him, eitehr on TV or in the flesh.. he was attractive to watch. its just the way he plays. by making him industrious like a rooney, or a tevez would take away most of the threat he poses. he's all about deft touches, reading the game and core strength.. whilst he hasn't exploded into life at manure like everyone thought he would, he is still fairly high up on the assists table, has a decent goal to game ratio, and has scored some big goals for them.
im not gonna sit here and jump on the spurs bandwagon that "he's been rubbish for united" - i dont buy it. as a unit, they have never got out of 2nd gear all season, that goes for ronaldo, tevez, rooney, etc - most of their attacking players.. its defensively where theyve done the business.
30 million though? = probably not, but give him another season, settled and with a couple of trophys under his belt, i wouldnt bet against him gettin 25+
Hmmmm! Am I alone here?
Never liked the guy, yeah he scored some crackers but he was also lazy and all too ready to fall over, he spent more time on his ar*e at WHL than most of the crowd !!
I never warmed to him at all and thought we did a cracking bit of business when we sold him - hes Manu's problem now and they are welcome to him.
Obnoxious Bulgarian g*t
