I was at Stamford Bridge November 14th 1970.
My mate at the time and I arrived early determine to get a good standing position for a couple of teenagers.
They made us queue down by the high street till about 2 hours before Kick Off, then opened those gates and we all rushed up to the turnstiles. I remember almost being crushed by the crowd against one of those old scaffold type barriers, I managed to slip underneath as the wind was forced out of me.
My Mate Ian and I were determine to get a great view so when we were let in we chose to stand behind the Goal slightly to the left instead of under one of the Stands where there was shelter from the rain.
Well it wasn't long if I remember right and the rain came down.
It rained all game, but we sung our Hearts out for the Spurs and a new Lad with a big heart Stevie Perryman.
We had almost given up on a win when with 2 minutes to go Alan Mullery blasted one in and while we were still Celebrating that, Jimmy Pearce snuck one in as well. Chelsea did not know what hit them, having had most of the game, and most of the 61,277 crowd at the Bridge were not singing now. Then Martin Chivers hit the bar right in front of us in the dying seconds, on a sodden pitch and we all went crazy. We did not care we were soaked to the skin, a memory of a lifetime one I will never forget.
I wonder where my Mate Ian McLaughlin is now, I hope he is well and still supporting the Spurs.
The Chelsea Team- Peter Bonetti, Johnny Boyle, Ron Harris, John Hollins, Marvin Hinton (John Dempsey), David Webb, Keith Weller, Charlie Cooke, Peter Osgood, Tommy Baldwin, Peter Houseman
Tottenham Hotspur Team - Pat Jennings, Joe Kinnear, Cyril Knowles, Alan Mullery, Mike England, Phil Beal, Alan Gilzean, Steve Perryman (Neil Johnson), Martin Chivers, Martin Peters, Jimmy Pearce
Crowd : - 61,277
Ref. : - Pat Partridge (Middlesbrough)
Team lineup found at spurs v chelsea match reports I hope it's OK to give credit for that.
OK now I have 10 posts, hope to see Spurs v Blackburn on this great Site.

One word . . . Arsenal!
King and Bongani,
King and Bongani bong!!
(watch out here they come!)
Will we stay or will we go now?
Will we stay or will we go now?
If we go there will be trouble
and if we stay we'll do the double
So Levy has got let us know
Will we stay or will we go!
Rafael, Van Der Vaart
ƒuck Chelsea & Frank Lampard
with a nick-nack paddywhack he'll be getting goals
when Lampard's too fat & old
COYSAFOYS
"There's always next year..."
I think back then we played with just 2 at the back Cyril And Joe.
Then I think it was Mike England ( well I know it was ) in the middle, he was a rock.
Either side was Mullery and Beal.
Then Stevie Perryman and Martin Peters with Peters more up front and Stevie Perryman all over the field
On the wings we had Jimmy Pearce and Gilly ( Alan Gilzean ) although both would drift in field if the chance was there.
Up front was of course Martin Chivers, he was always massive for us, with a big heart.
A lot of the Spurs Team back then played with such passion for the White Shirt of Tottenham.
All this said we were under siege for much of the game,
I seem to remember Pat Jennings getting knocked out in a Goalmouth scramble but England, Mullery and Perrryman would not let them in. ( It might of been Mike England who got hurt, but I will aways remember we would not give up )
Even Jimmy Pearce had a good game, and we did not always think that of Jimmy.
A Great Day a long time ago, but I will never forget Mullery Scoring, nor Jimmy, they came off that field hardly recognizable as a team in White. After first coming to our end of the field to thank us for coming.
This the the Spurs I love.
Lets hope Robbie, Lennon and the rest of the lads can do that tomorrow.
Come on you Spurs.
Now I have to go dry my eyes, sorry.
There are a few that stick in my mind, although my memory is not quite as impressive as yours Scaleracing. Nottingham Forest in the quarter finals of the league cup is one of them, late 80's early 90's (told you my memory is not as good). We had something like 50 coaches going up plus all the others that made there own way there. There was a real lot of traffic and we were all delayed. They told us on the coach not to worry as the kick off had been put back by 15 minutes. When we arrived at the ground it was clear from the noise coming from inside that it hadn't been delayed and kicked off at normal time, were not amused by this! Got in and the Yid army were a credit, sang our hearts out. I remember being 2-0 down and thinking we were going out only to pull it back to 2-2 to force the replay. I think Steve Sedgeley scored the equaliser.
Lost the replay though, that littlte Steve Hodge getting away with a handball as he went through to score!!
