      * Robbie Keane scored a last minute equaliser as the Republic of Ireland earned a valuable point away to Italy in Bari.

Juventus's Vincento Iaquinta gave the Italians an early lead, before Keane levelled in the 89th minute to level the game at one apiece.

      * Vedran Corluka played a full 90 minutes at centreback in Croatia's 2-0 win over Andora. Luka Modric was an unused sub.

      * Alan Hutton put in a stirling display for Scotland, capping his first full competitive match in over 4 months with an assist as Iceland were defeated 2-1.

      * Gareth Bale played a full match in Wales's home defeat to the Germans. The Welsh lost 2-0 to goals from Ballack and an Ashley Williams own goal.

Chris Gunter played 35 minutes as a second half sub in a result that leaves Wales ten points off the qualification with just 4 games to play.

      * Super Roman Pavlyuchenko played 84 minutes in Russia's 1-0 victory over Lichtenstein. This was Pav's SIXTY FIRST game of the season and leaves the Russians four points behind group leaders Germany with a game in hand.

*Wilson Palacios's Honduras spanked Mexico 3-1 in San Pedro Sula. The uniquely named Carlos Costly grabbed a brace as the Mexicans slumped to their sixth and final defeat under Sven Goran Eriksson.

Giovanni Dos Santos missed the game due to a groin injury. The youngster flew home to be examined by Tottenham medical staff, before returning to his loan club, Ipwich Town.

Two scorelines to draw to your attention:
      Poland 10-0 San Marino
      Bolivia 6-1 Argentina. Wow!

Anyone know why Modric was on the bench for Croatia?

Well, from what we in Croatia were told, he felt a pain in his knee on the last training so Bilic decided not to risk it and put him on the bench, just in case, if things started to go wrong or something...

I'm pretty certain it was the men's team. I'd hate to see a woman that looked like Carlos Tevez! Scary thought!

Sounds like Maradona's lot didn't turn up, despite having the likes of Messi, Mascherano, Tevez and Zanetti.

      Really- hope it's nothing serious?

How did Corluka get on at centreback?

Good question- Bolivia are currently ranked 56th in the world according to FIFA, with Argentina 6th, so it's a major upset.

It may have something to do with the high altitude that they play their homes games at.

Although you'd expect Maradona to be fairly experienced when it comes to being high...

Corluka played **** tbh was dribbling on the side most of the time doing useless things he never lost the ball or anything but he didnt do much either. Just played passes around nothing really special from 10 points I would give him 5 in this match. Then again most of the croatian team played **** so hard to judge.

They are currently third in their group, having played 2/3rds of their qualifying games. The top four qualify out right and as it stands it looks like it would be Paraguay and then 3 from Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Uraguy.

i watched a fair bit of the bolivia argentina game. pretty crazy. obviously bolivia dominated but a scoreline like that is phenomenal against a team like argentina.

similar to the other game recently equador v brazil. it was 1-1 but equador squandered countless chances and deserved to win by at least 3 goals. only thing stopping them was bad finishing and julio cesar in his usual freakish form.
