What is it with this lad, he tore Norway U21s apart last night, he has so much talent, more than JJ for sure, I just can't work him out. He got in the team regular when Harry took over and was a revelation then his contribution just peters out by his third or fourth game, same thing happened with Juande and MJ (who likened him to Beckenbauer, lmao). I'm no coach so if you boys were Harry how would you try to maintain his performance levels so we see the best of him week in week out or has he blown his chance with us? I have a sneaking feeling he is going to end up a centre back wherever he is in the coming seasons.

Hudd needs to speed up his game and play at the pace the game requires, he is without doubt a fantastic ball player and he is still young and has time to learn. IMO

He would be fantastic abroad. If he sorts his fitness out then he'll be fantastic here too.

I never heard about Hudds and his fitness?

He was born the 28th of december 1986 in Nottingham, played for derby 2 seasons, wolverhampton season season and now us for the 3rd season running.

The lad for a start is only 22.

I have never in any of his games, said to myself he cost us points today. Or had a poor game, like we had said to ourselves when bentley, jenas, zokora or bent played their horrific games.

He was always in some way part of the goal, weather its long passing it out to one of the wingers, passing a nice through ball, or just lurking to pull a DC out of poisition for one of the strikers.

If he had a fitness problem, wh would he play prem matches then go and play for england?

Thing is, after Jenas improving his work rate, modric hitting the target, palacious just bought in, so cant be a sub, and Lennon...Where can he fit under harry's eyes?

He got more games when we went 4-5-1, as he is "5th choice"

In conclusion, I would love to see Hudds get more games, or at least get subbed on/off at half time, he can really bring us another attacking and defensive approach to the game, and he is a great for me. Bit like Malbranque, was so sad to see such a creative player/passer leave, and then get so many assists and soem goals for sunderland.

      He is nothing like Malbranque.

Steed worked his arse off every minute of every game.

The Hud thinks he is good enough or expects to be in the side. Arry said as much in an interview (I think it was the Burnly game) something along the lines of..........

"Certain players think they have the right to be in the first team and this is their opportunity to prove it as most of them have got their chance".

They spunked it big time and had to be rescued by Pava in the dying minutes!!!

I think the reason he isn't doing it on the big stage is because his head isn't right for the job yet and he doesn't have enough outstanding ability to rest on his laurels.

I think this spell out of the side should give him the kick up the arse he needs to address his obvious deficiencies. If it isn't then he isn't what Spurs need and he can go and freeload somewhere else.

Internationals are alot slower paced then prem games. He has had a few games with Spurs this season where everything has just passed him by because it looked like he couldn't be arsed to run.

He is absolutly perfect for the deep lying playmaker role, with Palacios' unbelievable workrate making up for Hudds weaknesses. Unfortunatly for him, Jenas has decided to get his act together recently so he will be sitting on the bench for now.

i just reckon tom could work next to palacios, we all know by next season jj will have his "cant-be-arsed" boots on next season as he thinks hes already proved himself.

ability-wise he is second to none, its a shame because hes very talented but i reckon he'll by applying himself elsewhere next season.

I hope its not at Spurs! I haven't once rated him playing in the centre half role. He was absolutely shocking in that position against Donetsk.

Huddlestone has two great attributes - his long passing, and a mean shot. That's not enough for me to have in the side ahead of Jenas, who despite being infuriating as hell when it comes to inconsistency, is a far better all 'round player when he gets his act together.

He played well along with Zokora/Jenas and Modric in a 5 man midfield when Harry first arrived so thats probley his best position.

He needs to be in a packed midfield with a player along side him to make up for his lack of defencive quality and a player who can attack to make up for his lack of attacking quality! lol.
As Funster said his only 2 qualitys of any note are his passing and his a good shot, especially on the bounce.

i like hudd, i think at the moment he is kinda at a crossroads, he doesn't play much since harry has come but he obviously is talented. it would not suprise me if he left in summer to a club like sunderland or something like that.

I dont think anybody can seriously argue hudd is better than jenas just yet. He's not got the fitness, goals (look at the pairs stats before you say anything) balance or experience to be yet.

He is however a tremendous talent and can easily develop into a top player with the right work. His dead ball abilty cant be argued with (apart from when he take a free kick, whats with that?). If anyone can get the best of him its harry and hopefully next season he will seriously step up a notch, if not i worry for his future at spurs cos he's at the age where he needs to start turning this talent into consistent performances on the pitch.

Speaking of jenas, i dont get why he gets such a hard time from spurs fans, he's come up with his fair share of crucial goals ( i can think of a couple against arsenal and one against man u off the top of my head).

Sure he's been incosistent the last couple of years but which spurs player hasnt really?

Nope not for me, the boy is way too inconsistant and slow and pretty lazy actaully, when the chips have been down hes gone missing, for me he offers good passing and thats it.
He wouldnt make it at the top four and i certainly dont see him as a regular at Spurs, we have realise that players like him and Jeans are just too inconsistant and have been average for too many games, i dont think Harry rates him much going on the past few matches.
If he leaves in the summer i wont shed a tear, is he better than Modric or Palicos? No.

i gave up on this lad along time ago, and im still heart broken. i had such excitement just thinking about what he would grow up into, and he has never showed me he wants it... he wants to be the best, to be a great, to make tottenham great... if i had his ability, i would hate people to say, that i let myself down cos i was lazy.

sorry mate but i wouldnt have any of the 2 of them anywhere near me!

hudd has talent that much is clear to see but the guy has no mobility! he has no pace and has no desire to put in that tackle!

he can pass a ball 60 yards onto the eye of a needle but he cant pass 6 yards without giving it to the opposition!

jenas for me is one of the biggest under achievers ive ever witnessed....this guy has an engine and an eye for goal yet he doesnt produce it often enough!!!

palacios with steed beside him would make me a happy man....i may be sounding like a broken record but that is wat i want!

ECS if he left and went to a team like Sunderland he would get shown up for exactly what he is. Lazy.

I dont understand how a kid of 22 nearly weighing in at 14-15 stone who basically is an athlete doesnt throw his considerable weight into tackles and destroy players!!!

I am of the same ilk as The hud and I dont hae to tackle many players more than once before they think twice about going in for the next 50-50.

If he sorted his fitness or showd us that he had the commitment and the engine for the big stage he would be an awesome DM. He could protect the defence by cruching attacking players with his considerable frame and spray balls all over the park from a deep position.

AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN SEE THIS???

I say send him to a lower league club for a season where he will have to run hard and tackle harder to get through the 90 minutes. It would bring his game on strides and make him or break him. If it makes him he would be worth so so so so much money it would eclipse the Diara fee easily.
