i have one question...wat is a glory hunter?????
i have my own opinion...a glory hunter is someone who knows nothing about a club and has no interest in a club but yet claims to be a fan simply because they are winning things!
on the other hand i have heard glory hunters being described as people who aint never been to the stadium of the club they support!
or on another hand maybe someone who has only been a couple of times(like myself) due to it being an expensive trip!
i feel every bit as much pain and joy as a season ticket holder wen we lose or win even tho im not in the ground wen it happens.....
so im just interested as to wat everyone classifies as a GLORY HUNTER!
They are the fookers who flit from club to club when they start winning stuff.
The trend has gone from
Manc U - Ars* - Chavs - Dippers - Manc U, over the last 5 seasons. They must account for 20% of a clubs revenue.
I don't think thats true. Some people in other countries don't have the opportunity. For example next season I'll be seeing Spurs at home, although I've seen them away when they came to Spain. I try to watch all games I can and check up about all the transfer news every day and can't wait til the next game.
I'd say a glory hunter just says they support a team to sound good since they win. In Spain there are LOADS, most people support or Barça or Real Madrid just because they win things and go to CL. People who switch from team every few seasons depending on who wins? Thats a glory hunter in my eyes.
I would define 'Glory Hunter' as someone who simply selects a team to support because they are a 'big team' and not because of any connection - family, geography or similar. They go for the glory, not the love.
If you can keep your head when all around you are losing theirs and blaming it on you ... you probably haven't a clue what's going on!
One thing i no for sure, ANY spurs fan is not a glory hunter.

I will give you a very honest opinion on that particular point and suggest that you don't. It may not be universally applicable, but it is my honest opinion.
However, leaving that aside, glory hunters are those who switch allegiance any time they see fit to follow the side that's currently 'en vogue'.
"Next year you'll support Man U!" - a famous chant, and oh so right.
Mate i have to disagree with you, I never started going to watch spurs untill my late teens but i loved the club when i was 3 just as much as i do now and always have done. I dont get the chance to go anymore as various comitments prevent me but whenever we score, win or someone do's a good move i get the same sense of joy as i did when i was a kid, a teen watching the game or watching on the net now. I cant see how you can say its any different as its the same emotional feeling.

glory hunter someone who supports a team just because the win trophies. I,E man utd
How in any shape or form can a 'Glory Hunter' mean 'someone who supports a team but does not go to see them play'? What a load of rubbish. If somebody has told you that then they are clearly an idiot.
Believing that someone who does not go to games is not as big a fan as someone who does is different . . . but still wrong. If you do not have the means / money to actually go to the stadium then you cannot go but that will not stop a proper fan doing anything they can to watch their team play & show their support in one way or another.
I'll do anything I can just to follow my team, even if that means listening to them on the radio, so be it.
My uncle absolutely loves Spurs but he's old now & hates crowds. He loves watching football, absolutely 100% Tottenham but won't go near White Hart Lane on a match day. I wouldn't dare suggest he's not as big a fan as me because of that. He's been Tottenham for twice as long as I've been alive, thru thick and thin, never wavered. He always wears his shirt on matchdays, he gives money to the club & shows his support wherever, whenever & however he can. He just won't go to White Hart Lane because he starts to panic in large crowds & he's not as strong as he used to be.
Did you know also that the club makes WAY more money from selling its television rights than it does from gate receipts? The only difference is that by going to the game you get the opportunity to shout your support & give the players a lift. You are the '12th man'.
However, you cannot argue that it is because you go to the game, that is not a deciding factor. There are thousands of people who go to the game & sit there in relative silence. They might as well watch it on the telly. Whereas my uncle threw his mobile phone at me once when we were watching Tottenham losing! Who's the more passionate? I have no idea, but going to the game has nothing to do with anything, it's all in the individual.
I heard a season-ticket holder the other day saying that he had missed the game because he had been on holiday on a remote island. So what!! I was on holiday in the bl**dy himalayas a few years ago (before internet live streaming even!) & managed to pick up the odd game on long wave radio & at the very least managed to catch some form of match report or highlights on some dodgy indian satellite system. Where there's a will there's a way!

A glory Hunter to me is all the twats down my locle pub wereing man utd and chavski shirts and talking about Ronaldo and J T.! That all they no they have the shirt and talk about one thing there best player reason being they no sweet fa about the club or history and it mkes me sick hereing it. All i no is i love my club like its part off my familiy and its all i think about day in day out call me insane but thats how it is. For a glory hunter they feel nothing 4 there club its just something to do
The official way of a glory hunter : Glory Hunter supporters are fired up when the team is winning, attending matches, giving vocal support and buying merchandise. But, at the first sign of a drop in the team's performance, the Glory Hunter supporters vanish.
We are in no way glory hunters.
You know what we are?
Devoted supporters we are the bread and butter of a team's supporters and known for their incredible loyalty. Where most people would have pictures of their loved ones Devoted fans have pictures of their side's players. Any side with a high proportion of Devoted fans at their matches can expect great support and huge amounts of passion.
COYS for life! and why not for death also!
Coooome oooon yoooou spuuuurs, cooome ooon yooou spuuurs.
Glory hunters...
Man Utd "fans" who always leave home games early because they have to get home to their wives or girlfriends -- In Tunbridge Wells!
Chelsea fans who claim to be lifelong supporters yet have never heard of Kerry Dixon or The Shed End and think Didier f***ing Drogba is the greatest player ever to wear a blue shirt because to most Chelsea fans, Chelsea never existed before 2001
The Gooner fan I know who thought that Liam Brady was the short one in Westlife! True!
All those twatty Londoners who used to wear Blackburn or Newcastle shirts 10-15 years ago....probably Man Utd or Chelsea fans now....
Foolish people who don't fool anyone
