Any idea what's happened to this fella?

His loan at Leyton Orient ended at the end of last year and he hasn't played for the reserves or in any friendlies for us since then.

Perhaps he's injured, anyone know?

You're right- the Chelsea game had something like 50 million pounds worth of talent in it!

The only thing is, we've had 4 reserve games since the start of the year and Dawkins has not even been amongst the subs in any of them. Seems a bit strange, perhaps they just don't think he's up to it?

What did you think of him, Bass?

Haven't really seen too much of him. He didn't do that great with the O's tho, made 11 appearances & didn't score a single goal. Not great for a striker.

i dont think he will make the grade unfortunately, if he was to make it he should have been knocking on the 1st team door by now.......

Simon Dawkins profile just been added to main site, this is some of what it says on his profile Biography::

The striker re-signed for the Club having initially been released at the end of the 2008-09 season following lengthy battles with injury problems.

Since his release, Simon has trained with our Development Squad in a bid to regain his fitness, featuring regularly in Spurs XI friendlies, before being awarded a contract until 2013

He just signed on loan with our partners in USA San Jose Earthquakes, they were looking for an attacking midfilder.

Oh yeah i see, but no mention in that thread of the fact that he was released from the club at end of 2008-09 season as had injury problems, but the club have kept him on training and playing and have just given him a contract nearly two years later after he regained fitness and has been training and playing in friendlies with the club.

So surely this thread relevant ? Good luck to the lad, I hope he makes it, he has got the Quakes number 10 so they must have been impressed with him. I know what it is like to not play the game for a long time through injury. I wish him all the best and would love it if he turned out for us and England (yeah a bit optimistic) in the next few years.

The extra info is great but typically any player who is out on loan this season is already in the loan thread

Looks like he is now wanted by Steve McClaren at Twente in Holland, aswell as San Jose Earthquakes again. I didnt even realise McClaren had gone back there.
