Hey guys, i was up in Wigan earlier today for a work assignment.. i was waiting outside one of my companies rooms and i saw a guy with a Wigan foootball shirt on (he was sitting opposite me) so i said hey you a Wigan fan...and he said yeah huge Wigan fan, i got chatting to him and he had really nice stuff to say about Spurs.. he said he always liked Spurs players and has been to white hart lane when Wigan drew 0-0 with us.
Anyway i know its not very interesting, but just thought i'll share it with you all. he seemed a real nice guy and he also said he doesnt like arsenal or man utd or chelsea or liverpool because they get all the ref decisions and have so much money. i also told him i like the fact that wigan seem like a family club.
anyway just thought i'll share it. thanks
I've found that we do get quite a bit of admiration from the supporters of clubs outside the top 4. Funnily enough I was chatting to a goon that lived in the US. He didn't quite get the fierce rivalry but understood us as being hateful neighbours. He had nothing but nice things to say about the match day support and the way we play, I felt quite uneasy at having a goon give us praise...
Never turn you back on a goon.
I rate Wiggan and their gaffer very highly!!!
They play like an old English footy team should do.
If theyd have kept Palacios theyd have been a good few places higher in the league.
ive tentatively extended the olive branch to my sisters boyfriend who's a gooner.. softly does it it seems. he's alright though; bit pissed off that he got hold of arshavin 15 million is peanuts for that talent.
yeah i'm a big fan of wigan and bruce; good to see an old school english club do well in the league with the spirit of the old boys... jumpers for goalposts!!
yeah i asked him about palacious.. he said he will do good for us, but he said he rates ben watson higher. he told me everyone is raveing about him.. he is english and young.
he said he respects the fact that spurs always sell out. he said alot of wigan fans are very worried that the JJB is never sold out ever, always empty seats.
i thought it was really cool that this wigan fan who i didn't know had such nice things to say about spurs.
ye theres good people every where wigan good honest team
That's really cool. I quite like Wigan Athletic, they seem like a club that just gets on with it and doesn't cause any trouble. They don't have any rivals as far as i know.
I hope Wigan do well. Good luck to them.
i dunno, i respect steve bruce and the team hes been building, i also feel a little sorry for him as weve seen that any gems he unearths is gonna get taken from him...the pitch is a rugby pitch though, and whoever said they play football the way it should be played, your havin a laugh aint ya?
I'm not suprised to hear this, Wigan are a very traditional club with a very nice english chairman and manager.
Wigan are a decent side, but Steve Bruce does look like he's been sat too close to a radiator for a while.

Hello Mr Clown, how's it going?
ust wondering... has your trade been affected by the recession?
Is there still work for you fellas in these times of economic gloom, or are you having to tighten your clown belt and cut back on the face paint and the squirty flowers?
Hope it's the former?![]()
