According to the Sun (I know they over hype stuff) Capello is enraged at Harry over the King saga.
Capello Displeased With Tottenham Hotspur Boss Harry Redknapp - Report - Goal.com
Towards the end of the article it says that an England insider told the press that Fabio is deeply upset and fed up with Harry for withdrawing King. It goes on to say that Fabio will pick players he deems good enough to play for England regardless of there managers wishes.
Taking all this into account i am really looking forward to seeing just how many Manure players play at the weekend, given there commitment to the EPL and CL campaigns that they have a real chance of winning.
I shall expect Rooney to have a mystery illness and Ferdinand to have pulled up in training either today or tomorrow with a phantom thigh strain. Shouldnt Fabios attention be turned towards Fergie and his complete disregard for anything outside of Old Trafford?
Spurs have a legitimate reason to pull Ledley out of international duties as its not only benificial to Kings long term future in football, but also vitally important that we keep him fit enough to see out an EPL campaign that could still see us slip down the table should he become injured playing for England in a nothing friendly and a qualifier my Sunday football team could win.
Capello needs to take a reality check. King has an injury that could end his career early if he is not treated with due care and attention. He is, i agree, one of the best CB's in England, but with Ferdinand, Terry, Upson, Jagielka and Lescott i think he has more than enough cover for these games as well as enough talent to nurture into world beaters. thats without mentioning Woody and Daws, who Fabio has overlooked yet again.
Fabio is almost making this whole debarkle sound like a question of pride. Its as if he is saying "I am Enlgand manager, what i say goes". Its not about that at all! its about the career of a fantastic CB and a very nice young man, that should he play too regularly, could be cut short due to the ignorance of a select few people who should have cared enough to protect him.
Good decision Harry.

I am getting increasingly fed up with Capello. It is almost as if he is trying to take on the whole English system & the way we do things. It has always been down to the clubs whether or not to release THEIR players for international duty & it has never really been a big issue in the past as the England manager tries to keep a good working relationship & dialogue between the England camp & the clubs. Capello seems to think he can bully our managers into giving up their players & it is starting to reflect badly on him. It is a different manager each time, with Martin O'Neill having been the last to get the hump with Fabio.
The England fans in general have their head in the clouds too. They're like "let him do what he wants, Fabio is amazing. Under him we'll win the World Cup!". All Capello has managed is 1 decent win over the Croats which, let's face it, he hardly had to do much to get the boys up for that one did he! The rest of the time we've been fairly awful.
Capello needs to learn to respect the way we do things here, he's manager of England after all, not Italy. Having a good relationship with the clubs is going o help him out much more than being at loggerheads with them anyway. I really don't like his attitude I'm starting to find it insulting, like he is better than us & the FA & a portion of the England fans all crawl on their bellies in front of him. Well he's made himself & the FA look like a bunch of clowns this time & his arrogant lack of an apology does nothing to appease the situation. Good on Harry & good on Martin for standing up to him.
Ledley is part of a strict & sensitive program which enables him to play for Spurs. Shold that program get disrupted then the player won't be able to play for Spurs OR England & his career will be over. It is HIGHLY irresponsible of the FA to have allowed this situation to occur in the 1st place. They are Fabio's lackies now & have lost their authority.
I'm rapidly losing faith in our national side. I don't believe we've had one since Hoddle & Keegan anyway.

yes i also dont understand him calling players like bullard up and not even given him the last 5-10 minutes just so he could earn his first england cap
his playing of heskey when he was injured is what upset o'neill heskey had struggled in training but capello still played him in a pointless freindly which angered the villa manager
the king fiasco was typical capello dispite knowing ledley can only play once a week he tryed to show his leadership and command but has ended up looking like a fool
england performances under capello have been lack lusture to say the least except that performance in croatia especially our homes games some of the games were dire and it was like watching serie a slow, boring and no pace to the game
The FA will in no doubt get a backlash from a lot of managers for this.
I can understand why top players are pulled out of friendlies as they are entirely pointless and should be used to bring through the players that dont normally get a shot, Bullard, Andy Johnson, Dawson, Woodgate and Lennon should have all been selected for the friendly on Saturday, not the entire 1st team.
How else are we ever going to bring through new players to add depth to our squad. Beyond the starting 11 and 5 subs i cant really see a player that has had a shot at playing for his country on a semi regular basis. If we dont start to use the fringe players England have in abundance then it may look as though we will struggle to field a world class 11 again. Its all about rotation and competition for places. Rooney would hate to see Johson bang in a hatrick on Saturday, because then it may just dawn on him that his regular starting place is under serious threat and he may pull his over paid finger out and start scoring for his country.
How long is Beckham (past it internationally) going to be selected infront of some serious talent like Lennon and SWP. Walcott seemed to walk into the side and we all know why (David Dein) but players like Lennon and SWP have to slave away season after season with no reward.
England has become a bore, playing the same 11 every single game. There is no fresh legs and no fresh ideas. Who will be our next Gerrard or Terry? I doubt we willl ever get the chance to find out.
Same old England.

Get bent Capello!!!
Arrys job is to do his best for Spurs and Spurs players.
Ledders even if he was amaising in this game would have no chance of playing in and coming through a major comp with his current ailments.
The old fella should posibly consider hanging up his international boots to try and prolong his club career. Hell it wont be many moony befor that is done and dusted too.
Well in though ledders you deffo deserved that call up.
I have heard through the rumour mill that Ledders is giving serious consideration to hanging up his international boots.
Its such a shame that he couldnt represent his country the same way he has represented Spurs, with discipline and professionalism.
Which is more than i can say about a number of certain England players.
"There's a fine line between madness and genius - God removed that line and replaced it with Gazza"
i didnt bother readin the story since its proibably all sensationalist rubbish... but without a doubt the callup was pointless, and all he would have needed to do was talk to any of the last 3 managers we've had at the club to tell him that - ledleys givin serious consideration to hanging up his international boots ? - what on earth is there to consider? he will never play in a tournament situation so what is the point?
capello to be honest seems like a bit of a fool*, but the stick hes copped for our performances are below the belt. we've only been outplayed once, and lets face it spain are the best team in the world... we beat a decent germany side on home turf, beat a good croatia side on home turf, and aside from that, we look at least to be making progress with him in charge... if theres one good thing about him, he is no whimpy yes man to the press, doesnt suffer fools, like the last two eggs we had in charge.
the media are making it out to be a personal vendetta which im sure is untrue.... i hear capello said walcott is englands best player though, so i dont really listen to him anymore
*(just remembered the no swearing rule)
harry is quite right wthdrawing king if he is not fully fit then why should playing for england . fabio got no right to be upset it is spurs who pays kings wages if he makes his injury worse playing for england he could be out for weeks we have too many important games to lose him so if fabio is upset then tough s--t
I have absolutely no qualms with Tottenham players being called into international squads PROVIDED the managers are properly briefed about a player's injury history and the utmost is done to prevent any serious or reoccuring injury.
Though it is difficult to decipher exactly what has gone on, it appears that Capello and co have gone against the medical assessments of our club. This is a shame because I feel Ledley can still do a decent job for both club and country.
Obviously he is not going to be able to compete on a regular basis in international tournaments, where there are a succession of games in a short period of time, but there is nothing to stop him playing a game a week as he does for us.
I do hope this has not damaged relations between our club and the FA as we have a long history of providing England with top players from Greaves and Mullery to Gascoigne and Lineker. Long may this continue.
"There's always next year..."
The Michael Owen injury has put a lot of managers noses out of joint = lets face he's never recovered and his club are paying a hefty price for that . I know he is not a patch on Shearer but this is the bugbear of having players in the national squad . Tottenham fans have never complained when we had players in the England squad = in fact it used to give us bragging rights , but like you guys are pointing out - this call up of Ledley sounds like some sort of sick joke . Especially when Woodgate is available .
Good Afternoon, Harry's take on Ledley...
