As everyone is well aware, Ledley King has recently been called up to the England for the next two games.
I know that he has come back now but why has Mr Capello, not tried Daws or Wooders.
Wooders has been terrific this season and Daws has recaptured the form when the partnership of King and himself was the platform of our 5th place finishes consecutively.
Capello's centre halves are:
Ferdinand
Terry
Lescott
Jagielka
Upson
Personnally.... i think both are better than most of those there (JT is sooooooo over rated)

Dawson is the right sort of age to bring into the England squad at this point, England need to start looking forward. I can't see the point of King playing for England when he is barely able to play and train for his club due to injury, its sad but he may never be fit enough to play a whole tournament.
Woody yes I agree and you can targue with the upturn in Daws for either, but Daws was abysmal..........utterly abysmal to be honest. He is on the right path to getting it on his merits but not just yet.

i rate woodgate ahead of all those CB's and im not even English!
terry is massively over-rated if you ask me - upson is a very good defender, as is woodgate.. king on his day is probably second only to rio, and even then he is of similar ilk.
woody and rio for me ,ledders if he could play ,ithink jt is on a downward slope and the 2 guys at everton are good but not a patch on woody
i cant stand terry and hes the fookin england captain, look at chelsea whilst RC has been out - theyve been shaky at the back. i honestly cant see why terry is rated so highly, he throws himself around his box like a ragdoll but imo even that scouse kunt carragher is a better CB than terry.
king and rio are the best CBs in england - upson is an incredibly talented player, he could easily play in a top 4 side given the chance, he always looks a cut above when playing for england.
cant see why woody hasnt been called up to be honest though
jagielka reminds me of woodgate - no nonsense, cant play football to save his life but a great defender.
Vidich is up there mate along with skertle. I know they ain't English but you get my point.
Upson I ain't so sure about mate. He surly would have stayed at the gooners or been snapped up by someone if he was that good.
On Terry he is a thug and not the best defender but he is effective and a real man motivator and when he is wearing an England shirt his in my county's captain and I will sing his name loud and proud. It even goes for that slimy c*nt Cole.

Now Woody is fit i see absolutely no reason as to why Upson, Jagielka and Lescott have been selected infront of him.
Lescott has proved that he is not good enough for England and Jagielka has played well for half a season. Upson is a good player and one for the future as well as Dawson, but Upson always seems to get the nod.
Woody has been excelent for us this season especially when he has stayed fit for the most part and has shared CB duties with 3 players, no easy task.
King is by far a better CB than Terry and if he was fully fit with absolutley no long term injury problems then i think Terry would be fighting for a start.
Ferdinand, Terry, Woody, Daws, Upson.
Not being biased but thats who i think Capello should have picked.

i get your point about upson, but its not like he wouldnt walk into their side right now, they're crying out for a good quality CB, and arsenal have made mistakes in the past in letting players go that would be useful to them ie. palacios, diarra etc
like i say terry aint my favorite player but hes a damn site better than the ginger kunt scholes and the filthy scouse carra.. at least he wants to play for his country.
why not....first of all to much competition already ( terry, rio ) and beacause woodgate is not a better player than king and for dawson i think he is a bit underated......i would have picked him over king if i was cappello
IMO rio is made by his partner all the time. he isnt actually that good a player
Ditto, except for a healthy Rio. Woody is especially better suited to play against teams that keep it on the ground. He's good in the air, but I think Terry might be a shade better in that respect. But Woodgate is as good as anybody anywhere at keeping on balance defensively, staying on his feet, and making that last saving tackle without fouling.
I think the reason that neither Woody or Daws got the call up to replace Ledders is that he was called up as a direct replacement for Rio. Capello just wanted to get him into the squad to get to know him, but Harry threw his toys out of the pram. Ledders was never going to play so he wasn't going to be replaced.
