So, I seem to remember the toffees sticking in an 8million pound bid in for Tom in the summer.. can anybody tell me why we didn't take it? He's fat and lazy. For me, he will NEVER make it in the fastest league in the world as a CM. He can't run fast enough, or for long enough, he can't tackle, can't head the ball. Basically all he can do is pass, and shoot.
He is a luxury we cannot afford at Spurs in my eyes.
Agreed,agreed,agreed and agreed!
Hes not what we need, my god he was probably the wosrt offender last night up there with that fecking Keeper and BAE.
Championship players playing in the big league and we all wonder why were in this god damn mess.
8 mil is giggle for him and I heard Jol wants him at Hamburg too, so come on Harry get rid.
F*ck Stratford!!!!
Why is it he gets a brilliant reception by 30,000ish at the Lane week in and week out, whether he is on the bench or playing?????
'Oh Tommy Tommy Tommy Tommy Tommy Huddlestone'
He vision and ball distribution is brill. CM isn't all about running fast. And if all he can do as a CM is pass and shoot
And I bet you wouldn't want to be tackled by him![]()
WE'RE THE PARK LANE
WE ARE N17
The Hud is a luxury player for sure, and I think the manager has to take the blame for part of it last night.
Hud was the worse Spurs player on the pitch last night, and not by a little way... by a whole new margin which from now on will be called "He was a whole Huddlestone worse than the rest of the team."
But what was he doing on the pitch. Seriously, the mud, the rain, the blood, the guts and the speed.... it was set up for HUD to have a STINKER!
He only got a game so others could rest and he KNEW it and was on a total sulk (as Harry almost said). I watch Hud stick his foot out as an impression of a tackle and it was LAUGHABLE
Hud looked lost, looked pissed off, looked cr&p and slow. But he should never have been picked.
COYS
I think Hud can put a ball on a sixpence , we dont have the quality strikers to read his hold up play . Its a shame , i think robbie and Berbie would have been scoring for fun again .
passing and shooting is all well and good mate, but how many times did you see him do either yesterday? if hes too unfit to get into position to do so, what good is that? and also, playing in the engine room involves ALOT more than just passing and shooting. Tracking back, making runs forward, tackling, heading, breaking up opposition play.. I'd happily go into a tackle with him, the blokes a poof.. never see him getting stuck in and clattering people.
His technical ability is up there with the best, of that i have no doubt, and as you say his vision and ball distribution is good, but being fit as fook is a pre-requisite in a league as fast and furious as the prem.
We haven't got a strong enough midfield to give him enough time on the ball . Step in Palacios and reap the rewards . i THINK THIS IS A SMALL PART OF A BIG PICTURE AT THE MOMENT . stand back . We have a Harry on board . And Frank lampard junior gave him the nod on this Honduran , it just goes to show how arrogant the rest of these Managers are than to listen to a player thats been given a hard time . Thanks Frank Lampard for the advice . Coupled with his forward movement i think hud can sit just in front of the defence , and pass testing balls forward to unlock defenses and with the rest of our forward group , we should be scoring for fun again . Sorry he reminds me a bit of Hoddle , and he lost a lot of weight , so if we can keep him fit . ??????????
He is young and we should stick with him, a lot of our problems are because we are constantly shuffling our squad around. There are a lot worse players in our squad unfortunately!
I personally have always been a Hudd fan. There's definately something about him and he does have moments of brilliance which in the past have completely turned our fortunes around. Thins he's the sort of player who really needs a decent squad around him, he's not one to shine on his own and unfortunately he doesn't have the support he needs.
Redknapp-"winning's a great habit"
I once thought Hudd could be our next Carrick, not so sure now though. He gave 10% last night, pathetic.
Agreed. He can make an accurate 60 yard pass, I wouldn't want to be tackled by him, I wouldn't want to block one of his shots, he can play a simple ball, he can hold up play without being phased by players trying to tackle him.
So he's not fast, so what? Lennon hasn't got some of the qualities that Hudds has.
For me Tommy was shockingly poor last night, but I would put some of it down to match fitness. He was a bit lackluster, but we've seen him play about 4,5,6 games on the trott and know he can be an asset.
Afraid the Hud's days are numbered.
Who was at the match last night watching? Moyes and Aladyce!!! Rumor has it that these are looking to make bids for him.
Arry also mentioned in his post match interview that certain individuals were moaning about not getting a game and when they had their chance they showed they were not good enough.
I think he was on about The Hud. Its something I have hear from a few places but there is no real evidence.
And TBH the way the free loading fat idiot performed last night I dint think we will receive any bids for him.
i know he has been called the quarterback but tbh he was more like the quarterpounder last night as punit says his days are numbered as i too though harry was refering to him in the interview dont know why he took modric instead hudd is a good passer great shot but his game really depends on his fitness and he looked about 3 stone heavier than he did when ramos put him on a diet so no more kababs mate
mate, its not that hes not fast, hes slow as fook. alot of players dont make it on the prem on that basis alone, a centre mid will always look cumbersome if he cant run. whats all this "i wouldnt want to go into a tackle with him"? have we been watching the same huddlestone?? hes far from a tough tackler. i wouldnt want to go into a tackle with emile heskey, or titus bramble.. the hudd, no problem.
im not denying that hes not talented. technically, hes the best young player in the country, but he is far from a well rounded footballer. my point is he wont make it as a central midfielder if he cant tackle and hes overweight - not in england anyway. la liga would suit him to a tee, but that wouldn't be adressing his faults, and as a young player thats what he needs to do - he needs to get off the pies and learn how to get muddy.
When Harry came in (when we won games) Huddlestone was in and Zokora was out then Tom had a game where he didn't set the world alight and has been dropped pretty much ever since. If we where being destroyed every game I could understand the need to reduce the creative nature of the midfield but as it stands we are not creating enough chances to give ourselves a lead, Huddlestone last year was our most creative player midfielder with 7 assists in 28 appearences and not to mention any goals he scored, I know many people hate stats but this is a young player who is still overperforming far more experienced players in our team. We should be holding on to these players and protecting them from the mess the club has created for itself not pointing the fingers at its most promising young players.
