this is GRIM GRIM reading. Does it get any worse.
BBC SPORT | Football | League Cup | League is top priority - Redknapp
Dont think im gonna watch the MANU game. Horror story waiting to happen.
Whats so bad about it? Tbh i think you are being a bit melodramatic. Why would we risk injurying players on saturday? I think every spurs fan knows that the league MUST be a priority. If anything i am looking forward to the game more then most. Why you may ask?
Because its a game that really means nothing. There will be no pressure to perform. And no frustrations and bent out emotions from the fans. We also get to see what some of the young guns can do. I am dieing to see how gio is going to be aswell as if bostock is ready for the PL yet. Its gonna be nice to chill out and enjoy the game the risk of ruining my day if we lose.
Tottenham Hotspur - A Life Long Labour of Love.
I totally agree with Harry. Premier league survival is far more important than the FA Cup.
We desperately need a result against Stoke and playing a "weakened" team against Manu makes lots of sense to give players time to get over their various injuries. Good on yer Harry!
Sorry what I meant was, its grim, how pissed off harry feels and how he feels that there are no more than 5-6 players maybe he's happy with. Just hearing our manager talk like this, at this point in the season, when we're off the bottom by GD only... just seems a bit grim to me. I couldnt care about the MANU match, but I support spurs in all games.... but this one I might miss as harry would prefer to put the u18s in if it didnt get him into trouble.
quotes like this one I thought were GRIM
"I had to play a few lads who hadn't played too much and they didn't do themselves a lot of good really to be honest with you," he told BBC Radio 5 Live
I think Harry's man management abilities are being tested to the full here , and either they're not listening or think they are bigger than the club . Either one spells long term trouble ,so he is quoting his stance before he comes out with sack race .
Exactly Kev. Remember when he took over and was talking about giving players confidence by pointing out the things they done well as opposed to the things they done poorly etc, well he seems to have changed his mind about that. Now he knows the frustrations we go through week in week out being Spurs fans, our patience are tested regularly.
I totally agree with how Harry is behaving, too many free loaders thinking their untouchable well wake up call lads...........your effing not!
The likes of Jeans,Huddlestone,Bent,Bentley,BAE,Bale, have all got their futures in the balance I hope.
As for the Man U game well I couldnt care less what happens up there infact id give them a bye into the next round now so we dont risk any others in our weak squad.
F*ck Stratford!!!!
Yip is'nt it great Spurs can join their peers like Wigan, Bolton etc by putting out weak sides in the FA Cup. God this is depressing and i think it's a mental illness i have that keeps me loyal to this once great club.
Sort it out Tottenham.
look theres no point comparing what we are now to what we were with jol at the helm, when we were finishing fifth. one way or another, that era is over. we are a different team now, we have to be realistic. i dont give a monkeys about the FA cup this season. anyone who thinks we can win it is kidding themselves, so why bother risking injuries?
it hurts, but its not about where you're from, its where you're at that counts.
I'd actually like to see some of our fringe players given a chance. We cant bleed them in the prem due to our precarious position so it's probably best to treat the FA cup as Harry intends.
He states that he wll field a weak side Yidno so expect to see that bunch of lazy fookwhits on Saturday.
I think this may be a mind game of Arrys but wouldnt be suprised to see that youth team turn out against Manc Utd.
If it aint then Arry has got it spot on. IMO lads even the CC isnt a priority. Not getting relegated is however.
staying up is defo top priority. without a shadow of a doubt. but playing one game at wembley shouldnt have any sort of adverse effect on the rest of season. i mean god, its not like we're going to play the final and then only win, like, 3 games until the end of the season!
we still have 16-17 league games left. we have 1 cup final, and winning that would cement european football which could be vital when harry is trying to build his team in the summer.
I disagree with how he said it.
If he said he was resting people because of injuries or wanted to give some of the fringe players a chance, that would be fine. But, after a game where he laid into the players that played as "not a lot of good", he's said he's going to play a "weakened" side. He said as weakened as it can get. What's that gonna do for the confidence of the lads who are coming in? Sorry lads, the guys who played at Burnley were crap but it could be worse, I'm just gonna play you lot instead. I don't know if Harry is trying to play mind games with them or is trying to boost his own ego here but I don't agree with what he said at all.
Also, if I was going up to Manchester, I'd be pissed at the comments as a fan. Harry is a very good manager but he needs to stop being so pally with the media and get on with managing because I think he is making the clear confidence problem we have a lot worse by him revealing publicly that he doesn't rate some players, laying into Bent despite him being the top scorer (I know it was a terrible miss) and pulling stunts like this.
It feels like he's ready to absolve himself of responsibility if we do go down but take the credit if we stay up and I don't think that's right.
Come on Harry, get it sorted mate.
Shark . He has tried the " arm round the shoulder " Harry approach . Its not working . So now the real Harry comes to the fore , and says do what your being paid to do , or i'll find someone else who will and let you go . He isn't doing this after going down , he's trying to make sure we dont go down . I was made to play for my place in the squad , and when i got the chance i done my best to keep my place . Sorry mate but " GET REAL "
i think redknapp came in he though he was it was going to be easy rasing a great football club from the bottom of the league
but hes realised that the squad is lacking characters and bottle there probably only 4 players in the squad that actually look like they want to play for the badge hes has inherited a midfield with no heart and steel and we have a centre half who plays once every 2 weeks
I think 'arry must be looking to ship out at least 8 of the players and bring his own squad which will lack neither heart or spirit
