Forgive me, but this may be a little off topic, but the beer has been a-flowin and my mind is a-reflecting.
Let's be honest. Spurs played like shiite today. I think a group of vertigo impaired mental patients could have put on a better show, yet, being the ever optimist (and not knowing why), a result is a result, and in this case, the result is good.
I present to you the case of my beloved Cleveland Browns of the NFL over here in the states.
My team was named after Coach Paul Brown, who some say invented the foward pass. Brown won 7 of the first 10 championships he could win and created a juggernaut. Then some douche named art modell bought the team and fired brown. Things have never been the same.
After losing the play-in game to the Super Bowl on a last minute desperation drive in 1986, and then again in 1987 on a freak fumble going in for the game clinching TD (imagine Bent missing that header to win the premiership, then play it over and over again in your head), douchebag Art Modell moved the team to Baltimore after the 95 season.
Modell's Baltimore team promptly won the Super Bowl
Cleveland finally got the Browns back in 1999, but have compiled a miserable 54 wins and 106 loss record since then.
To top things off, in that time, our rival the Pittsburgh Steelers won their 5th Super Bowl and are playing for their 6th this season.
In short, I guess I am asking you to imagine the Spurs being stolen from the fans to another city by the owner, then winning the Premiership there, seeing Arsenal win 1 and maybe 2 league titles, and have to root for a team more suited for league 1 that is Spurs only in uniform and name only.
Things could be worse. Believe me.
Today, Spurs got the result. Be happy that things couldn't be as f***ed up as the American football team that I grew up idolizing is.
yeah imma cowboys fan lol

i personally have always had a soft spot for the browns and think with quinn playing a whole year they will come good, edwards is great and joe thomas will be a rock, just takes time

Rose vs. Arsenal 2-1
Seeing all the yidos smiling at last- Priceless
Thanks mate
Cowboys are generally my second choice team.
I loved Emmit Smith, Michael Irvin, and Troy Aikman in the 90's
They've had some rough playoff times for the last decade and hopefully they get better.
Anyways, it's good knowing that sportsfans are the same the world over: Winning is good, losing is bad, and sometimes, management and the players have no idea what the hell they are doing!![]()
