After the horrific performance we've just witnessed I'm sure that the majority of you, like me, are wondering what happened to the team that at this point last year went out and slaughtered the a*se 5-1. From the players who played in that match we only have 5 remaining,
Dawson, King, Lennon, Huddlestone and Jenas, O'Hara was an unused sub so i guess we could say 6 and Defoe I'm not counting since he's been gone.
The a*se on the other hand have 12 of the same players in their first team, I'm pretty sure most of the other teams in the premiership cannot have as few stable players as us. It's ridiculous that we can't hang onto players.
Of the players we lost, my personal thought are that the two that were the biggest mistakes were Malbranque and Tainio. Malbranque was always one of my favourite players, a real grafter and I don't think he wanted to go from what i remember, Tainio I remmber as someone that was actually willing to work for the ball.
It's no wonder that the players don't manage to work with each other, the whole point of changing a squad is to bring in a few players that will strengthen you and bring something extra, not to sell half the squad and replace them with people who just don't fit in.
Dawson one of the two players i thought put in a half decent performance this evening, the other being Zakora. The Hudd and Jenas are players that i stubbornly refuse to lose faith in but they've been shocking recently, Jenas just never looks like he can be bothered. The way we look at the moment we'd have been better to scrap the entire team and rebuild it with a different mentality, the players are still trying to play the same game as they did when the team had a completely different set of skills and it's not working. Maybe this has something to do with why none of them seem to be able to be bothered.

If a chance to go to Wembley and defend your title can't motivate our team I don't know what will. There are a lot of rants out there about our players not being bothered, how the hell can they not be about something as huge as this.

      Agree 100%.
Steeeed and Teemu were solid squad players who always gave 110% for us, so what do we do, we thank them by showing them the door.
Ramos didnt have the first idea about English Football, he liked pretty skills and keepy ups to be the main quality in his players not steely determination and tough tackling.
Now we have a team full of lardy dar dont touch me or ill scream players who have got about as much balls as my castrated cat.
Lets hope, if we survive, this never ever happens again!

I have already ranted about letting Steeeeeeeeeeed go , one of the major mistakes that made us have a poor start , mixed feelings on Tainio as he showed signs not reading the game well but both 110% grit and determination , so well said lads .
