Jermaine Pennant has agreed to join Ports­mouth on loan until the end of the ­season, despite a late bid by Harry ­Redknapp to take him to Tottenham Hotspur. The midfielder was told that he would not feature in Rafael Benítez's plans at Liverpool, where he was under contract until the summer, and so he took the decision to sever his ties with the Merseyside club, while keeping his longer-term options open

I too couldn't see the logic in this one if its true, as stated previously we have decent cover on the right, is it me are we just linked with every player that wants away from his club at the minute
