Why can't we just sign the players we need? There's lots of bad press about how Levy is trying to arrange deals over a period of 5 years payment.
"Wilson Palacios may be staying at the JJB Stadium after all!
The player himself has had a double your money offer from the Latics and he is also not too keen on uprooting his young family after settling in very well in North West.
In addition it seems that Tottenham's recruitment and payment policies have been slammed, not only by Mr Whelan, but also by a number of other Premier League chairmen and managers.
It seems like Harry Redknapp 'is after every player in the league' and then his board look to pay for the said players over staggering long time scales."
This must be driving Harry mad - not only do we have Man City to contend with but our chairman who seems unwilling to just pay for the players we need. He was very happy to take the £50m for Keane and Berbs - lets just get the players that Harry needs...!
Because we are Tottenham! It wouldnt be the same if everything went along like it was supposed too.
It's shocking how much press we're getting - whoever the 'mystery' mole is giving all this info out its getting a bit silly now. Can we please just bring in a couple more players ...
what happened to getting a leftie as well??
Levy... has done nothing to justify himself.. . and if this is a true statement of how he is doing business, to me its just another reason to see him off. i can just about accept he doesnt no a good footballer from a bad one, but he has always seemed good enough at the business end.
Its obviously rubbing people up the wrong way - he's not looking to take on a mortgage - he needs to buy the players outright and do the deal. No wonder the other premiership teams are fed up - if i sold something i wouldn't expect the person to say - i'll give you the money back over the next 4 years..
i think its a common event in the Prem that money is divided over a number of years, Pompey hadn't parted with cash for Defeo when we took him back.
I just think a) Levy is pushing it a little bit too much and b) Clubs need the mone now.
There is a MASSIVE difference between buying something that is FOR SALE and buying something that isn't.
Downing, Paly... etc... these players are not for sale, so we have to pay OVER THE ODDS to get them and with a sweet deal. If the guys were for sale, you could make an offer.
Levy should know this as its why we got big money for Keane and Berv
