these guys are really gettin on my nerves every time we are linked with a player city are always waiting in the wings to offer more more money than us and sign the player
craig bellamy
wilson palacios
that kaka offer is a great disgrace and the sooner those rich arabs lose interest the better
they have killed football
if u hate man city leave a comment
( Click to show/hide )
i do not hate man city they are a club that was taken from the brink of virtual collapse to potentially a world class outfit !!!
i do hate the way they are going about it though .... i hated the way chelsea did it a few years ago also , but you know what they say money rules the world .
"The great fallacy is that the game is first and foremost about winning. It's nothing of the kind. The game is about glory. It's about doing things in style, with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom."
-Danny Blanchflower
At least Mark Hughes is doing one thing right:
"Bellamy's move to City is the result of a remarkable "gentleman's agreement" between Harry Redknapp and Mark Hughes, which sees City and Hughes dropping out of the race to sign Wilson Palacios, while Spurs and Redknapp have ended their interest in Bellamy. "
Rather have Palacios than Bellamy![]()
What football need is salary cap! the sooner the better! this is ridiculous...
Come on you Spurs
yeah but somthing does need to be done, otherwise we will just see our team being dwarfed untill money shows up that levy cant refuse, surely that isnt a ethical way of running arguably the most important game in the world. somthing definetly has to change cos its spiraling out of control.
agree with squalid9, much rather have polacios than bellamy. i think we need a bellamy type character in the team just maybe somone with a little more backbone. spitting his dummy out and refusing to play for wet spam at the weekend kinda put me off him tbh.
"It's about getting the best out of the lads and confidence. Life is about confidence. Whatever you do in life, if you are not confident you don't perform. It's up to me to get the confidence running through the players and if I can get that instilled you'll see a team that will really play." - Harry Redknapp - 29/10/2008
for me, anything that might divide the TOP 4s hold on English football is alright by me.
Now that another team may upset their control over the game, they might want to start changing the rules and laws of the business end of the sport. That could lead the way to a shake up of footballs super powers.
Man City may divide the power in the gentlemens agreement that allows a few clubs to stay on the top. This could be a great thing for football.
Totally disagree. i want to see the top 4 dislodged but I'd much ratger see it done for footballing reasons &, you know what, that is what is happening. i can't believe people are still talking about City in terms of being a 'world class' outfit & breaking the top 4 when you look at how the are at the moment. Regardless of who they buy they are 3+years away from top 4. Aston Villa & Everton will get there first, and for all the right reasons,
I still hate Chelsea for the way they achieved success & I'm hating City for even attempting to copy them.
Especially with their transfer policy. Thy have bare faced talked about who they are going to sign and chased everybody whereas Harry has said things like "I like the player but if **** don't want to sell him then why should they" & we are getting loads of stick & they just carry on.
Not only that but their going for our targets (Bridge, Cole, Owen, Palacios, Bellamy, etc)is becoming beyond a joke. Its as if the owner wish they had Harry instead of Sparky & think they can just copy whatever we do in the market.

Hello mate...
Villa might touch the glory of 4th this year, Everton, might get 5th... Newcastle and Blackburn have been there before... hey even we got f'in close one upon a time.
but it will be short lived.
Man City, as you say, in a few years time, have the chance to go and interprupt them on a regular basis. It just depends at whos expense. IMHO I think they will push out either Chelsea or Arsenal.
What we must be aware of, is that Man City is the FIRST, of what will be a few OIL TEAMS. 2 -3 more and then the rules of Football ownership and players wages will change.....
But before things change the Group of 8 - must be upset.
I don't think they do tbh. They just have not got the foundations in place & are trying too hard. Even Chelsea (who bought their eventual success) have been regularly attracting big name players & competing at the business end of the table since the 90's.
Unfortunately City is a working man's club playing at milionaires. They can't attract the lifestyle of those used to Milan or Madrid, or even London. The only reason United manage it is because of their history and prolonged success. I think City should be proud of their roots & focus on being themselves & achieving success the right way, by investing in the youth team, who are actually serving them well but are being undermined now by the owner's desire for greatness. They are going to lose Sturridge, Hart, Richards, Dunne, Ireland, etc & i think that is incredibly wrong. You need players who know what it means to play for City & take pride in pulling on the shirt.
Don't get me wrong I'd love to see the likes of Kaka in the Prem but not at the expense of our homegrown players who deserve better & only for the right reasons, because its a challenge he wants to take on for a club he admires. That is so far from the case here its not even funny & it means we won't see the best of him & will not only waste our youth but a great world talent.
Just having money does not make you 'big' & Kaka will be too big for City. They will bow to his every demand, play him no matter what & he will have more power than the manager. That would not happen at United/Madrid/Chelsea/Milan because they have decades of dealing with big personalities & everyone wants to be there. Kaka & the like at City is surely doomed.
This country once relied on the great youth systems of clubs like City. We think we are suffering now with the influx of foreign players but just wait & see how our great prospects have their confidence stripped away from them as they are replaced by big names who sell shirts despite playing out of their skins. There is nothing they can do, Ireland will never keep Kaka out the team & he's been City's best player. I agree this is a disgrace & the football I love has become the plaything of foreign dignitaries who just want bragging rights of having the best players in the world.
I completely disagree that Villa & Everton's success will be short lived. They have a much better chance of sustained pressure on the top spots because they are building from the ground up.

basskadet, cant say I disagree with you and the point you make. But I do think they will be another Chealsea and buy themselves regular success. And if others join them, football will have to change the rules of the game, and that will benefit Spurs more than the likes of Manu. I might even benefit our home grown youth.
IMO the thing is, all the other fans are complaining becuase of jealously If Tottenham were in the same situation, then we would all love it,
I say good luck Citeh, they want the best players as much as any club, but they have the cash
I actually wouldn't & I am actually not jealous in the slightest. I actually feel sorry for the City fans because its like they've got goggles on at the moment. They are doing very badly still, have been knocked out of the domestic comps by Championship sides easily, & are still thinking they are gonna be better than United by the end of the season! I would HATE it if we were linked with Kaka (or whoever) for that sort of money without having first built up a genuine foundation to convince him he should come. Kaka does not want to leave Milan, they are selling him because they want to take the money & run. Who can blame them.
However, City will end up under Kaka's thumb & Sparky will be his gimp.
I would be heartbroken if the same were to happen here. We can't compete with them financially but we are pretty well of, & not because some foreign billionaire who doesn't know the first thing about us has come but because a company run by genuine Spurs supporters have been looking after the club & our money very sensibly for the last 5-10 years or whatever.
I am enjoying seeing our youth team prospering & looking forward to seeing how Harry Redknapp is going to build a good, balanced squad that can play as team &, hopefully, challenge for honours. Sparky hasn't got a chance & they just don't look like they kow what they are doing. Who knows if he'll even be their manager in 6 months. How can they hope to build a proper side if they have no stability & have an owner who insists on getting involved.
Rafa Benitez has recently declined a new contract at Liverpool cos he wants better control over youth development & transfers. Imagine if he were at City!!! Sparky is fast becoming nothing more than a symbolic gesture but, unfortunately for him, he will be the one judged, not the owners.
