Sky Sports News is tonight reporting Ac Milan have accepted a bid from Man City of £107m for Kaka with a further £31m in various fees sorry guys but for me football as we know and love it tonight has died. In this current financial climate how the hell can football justify a transfer fee of that magnitude the sooner a salary cap is brought in the better

      It's ridiculous.

Like I said in another thread, the only saviour for football is the bankruptcy of the nouveau riche.

      Disgraceful.

My cousin has Autism and the goverment has just stopped a $300 per week payment to have a teacher work one on one with her at school, yet someone buys someone for nearly $200, 000, 000 australian dollars to kick a ****ing football around.

    6. These users same thanks for this post

Thing is, if a mega rich billionaire offered to sort the complete shambles at spurs, i'd actually welcome them with open arms, Levy has made mistake after mistake.....santini, sacking Jol, hiring ramos, and , as a final encore, it looks like he might get us relegated

      The sun is reporting 243mil?

Don't know much about The Sun, don't know if its reputable or not.. just saw this on digg.com

      *edit.

      Nm heres the breakdown.

City’s bid breaks down as follows:

      £108 million for AC Milan.

£108million for the superstar’s wages including taxes. Kaka will be paid a NET salary of £13.28m a year which breaks down to £255,000 a week take-home.

£27m in commission to brokers, middle-men and signing-on fees.

I heard the agents fees are above 40 million pounds. 9 million (plus) more than we sold berbatov for! Truely unbelivable. This is just the start as well, I also heard they will go for 2 of the best premiership players once kaka has signed, a defender and midfielder, don't no who do.

The Sun is not very reputable and loves to sensationalise, usually by adding plenty of 0's to figures mentioned.

NO WAY! I would cringe if they came anywhere near this club! /I keep hearing City fans all chuffed & saying 'green-eyed monster', etc, but really its nothing of the sort. They are getting carried away with the thought of Kaka coming to their team (understandably) & not really considering the ramifications for them as well as everyone else.

That sort of money will give Kaka unnecessary amounts of power. What if he disagrees with Sparky? What if he plays badly & flops? Can Sparky drop him? For £100m+ Kaka needs to perform 110% of the time & he doesn't always do that. I've seen him go completely AWOL in games (especially against teams like Wigan/Hull/Stoke etc). 1 poor performance & everyone (press & fans alike) will start to question his worth. Also, what will the rest of the team think. Stephen Ireland has been HEAD & SHOULDERS their best player this year, how will he take being dropped for Kaka? How will the rest of City's start egos like it when they are on an eighth of the salary Kaka is on (and what he says goes!).

No, no, no. This is not how to run a football club. I am glad City fans are happy, I really am, but I fear it will be short lived as I think that this will cause too many problems. I would much rather we bought good, strong players that better the TEAM rather than a great player who only really betters the sales figures in the club shop!

The god's honest truth is I am 10x more excited about the prospect of Appiah & Palacios signing for us than I would be if we were linked with Kaka because (as great a player as Kaka is) I don't see what he would add to our team. We have plenty of skill & talent and we need some steel & guile 1000x more than another flair player. I dare say City are the same.

Its a joke! I know the defender they want is John Terry! John f***ing Terry! Honestly, they would surely have to wait for Chelsea to be relegated first!

If we go there will be trouble
and if we stay we'll do the double
So Levy has got let us know
Will we stay or will we go!

Money speaks im afraid , if i offered you a massive pay rise - even if you didn't accept it would unsettle you for a while . The only way he'll refuse is if abramovich matches the offer.

Sort of what I figured. I live in the states so you will have to ignore my lack of knowledge on this subject.

Either way, I don't know if I completely agree that this outrageous rate is going to kill football. The NY Yankees pay Arod 27 mil a year to play baseball..and I still love the game.

Eh.. we will see I suppose.
