I would be interested to know how they plan on proving that they were singing that song. (which for the record although its offensive its also genius)
So what someone has a picture of them with there mouth open? They could be singing a different song or talking to the person next to them.

why didn't those same Hampshire Police charge those same pompey fans who were apparently offended by the campbell song charged when they were singing worse about arry when he went to southampton?? typical the media jumped on the story and then the police jumped on the bandwagon saying that the chanting was over the top there been songs sung like that for years all over the country
This may be controversial but is fact.
11 people got charged today for racist or indecent chanting at a football match.
2 of them were charged for singing the SOL song, I have no sympathy with this, although not racist this is indecent.
The other 9 were charged with either singing "G*y Boy, G*y Boy" or "You can stick Sol Campbell, because we've got Ledley at the back".
This cannot be right, if these are offences then I expect half a million people up and down the country to be arrested this weekend, as they sing a lot worse than this. This is all down to police incompetence on the day, not going after the perpetrators of the songs, trying to pass the buck to the FA, who rightly told them they should have done their job on the day. The police have then just videotaped one section in the front 2 rows of the crowd. The police were almost apologising to the fans whilst charging them, as thi is not down to the individual coppers at Hampshire, but instead the Superintendent who after putting the faces in the paper, without sufficient evidence cannot back down or will likely lose his job.
I implore all Spurs fans to write to the club and ask them to support these 9 or so fans, the name of the club and these fans have been dragged through the mud by police incompetence.

I live in Southampton and it is well known down here that the Pompey fans struggle to put sentences together, let alone make up songs, other than the Pompey chimes of course. And that is just one line that has been jumbled up the second time round!Originally Posted by basskadet

You must be joking, there is no way the singing of this chant could be regarded as offensive in a Court of Law.
This is sung week in and week out when our King is playing.
OMG what is going to happen this Sunday, are we all going to be down the nick.
Not supporting any fan who sang raciest or over the top offensive chants. I hope any fan found not guilty or not taken to court, will sue the police for their incompetence in handling the alleged complaints, by putting their photos on the national press.
If it was for singing 'You can stick Sol Campbell' it's frightening PC gone mad. Any one of us could be arrested.

Unfortunately it's true. 11 of the 12 they have identified (none by pictures, all by phoning up themselves) were at Portsmouth Police Station today in 10 minute intervals and compared their charge sheets. They have 5 second CCTV images of the people singing and it is *** Boy, *** Boy (when Ledley came up for a corner, and bent over in front of Spurs fans), a rendition of you can stick Sol Campbell up your arse and 2 people singing Sol, SOl wherever you may be that they have charged the fans with singing.

Just emerged that Prince Charles has used the word 'Sooty' for a polo mate. Standby Hampshire Police put his photo on tv and see if anyone recognises him.
Next it will be Prince Harry..................!!!!!

Actually I wonder how many of the Hamps finest boys in bluerealise that after his betrayal Judas Iscariot was found hanging from a tree after committing suicide?
Or maybe they are going for the spin that being Spurs fans we must be Jewish (obviously) and Judas+tree+hanging+suicide=Christianity...so that means that the chant is then a Jewish chant against Christians and that is where it comes in
