did anyone see the rollocking the hull city manager gave his players at half time ..... in the middle of the pitch for everyone to see ?

i thought this was brilliant any manager that stamps his authority on his players and berates them like this is quality in my book .

A coach in the AFL down here in Australia did the same thing a few years back. Took his team out and walked them down towards where a whole bay of that teams supporters were and gave them a talking to.

Was good to see. I'm sure the players didn't like it. Were made to look like proper c*nts. But I guess at 4-0 down...your nothing but.

I tell you something Bazza buddy, if more managers were like him then perhaps all the precious players in the premiership - Berbatoss, Drugba, Chimpbonda etc will all bugger off and let the premiership get down to serious buisness instead of getting out the Pampers Nappies.
Hope he will manage England one day.

Sorry i dissagree. It did wake them up in the second half , but the game was already out of reach by then. It should never have had to come to that in the first place in my book of thinking, "stable doors, bolts and horses come to mind. I thought thats why they go training between games . We were poor against Fulham, because Fulham didn't come to win, but Hull were like a pub team. C*nting them off in front of the fans just saved him from getting the stick that was gonna get aimed at him after the game. A managers job is to pick the team to win games, not c*nt them off in front of the fans because they are 4 nil down.

This was nothing more then brown playing up to the cameras, as I don't recall him doing the same thing when his team got hammered at home by wigan? why do it now? I will tell you why.....he knows his team have been punching above their weight, and he knows hull are a very poor team that has been winning games by luck and individual brilliance, rather then his "management skills", and this pathetic display of management" was just an attempt to take away any blame from himself and put all focus on the players, players that were outclassed.

I hope Hull slide down the table and go back to where they belong.

      Well in to the fella.

An those that doubt him!!! Look at the league table. They will finish a hell of alot higher than us and a great deal many other teams.

      Sour grapes.

He came out afterwards and said that it was everyones fault including his. After they step over the white line he is out of control bar substitutions, and they played diabolical yesterday knowing full well that they could do a lot better. He wasn't saving himself, he doesn't need to save himself, what he did was just good management.

punching above there weight ??? i would rather be punching above my weight than constantly underachieving season in and season out !!! the hull team have done absolutely amazing this season and i have nothing but respect for them and their manager . phil brown sat his players down in the middle of the pitch and gave them what for because that is exactly what they deserved if other premiership managers followed suit .... i reckon a few egos out there would be sorted right out !!! phil brown

sorry, are we talking about the same hull? winning games by luck? theyre a well drilled, well organised team with alot of fight in them and yes, probably less technical ability than alot of prem teams, but their position after 20 games says alot for them. im another one for hull doing well, phil browns a good, passionate manager. and one of a rare kind.

All I know, as a football fan, is that when my team plays really badly I would love to see them get a public kick up the arse. Well done that man. If Hull were to go on a really bad run, it would be Browns job on the line not the players!

I`ve always had the opinion that players should be put on 3 month contracts at a time then you would see if they were trying like has already been said if a team dont perform the manager cops it so why not the players. Lets be honest if these players were put on such contracts how many would still be at the Lane ?
