Congrats to the whole team who beat Liverpool tonight, played very well and deserved it.
Gomes again had a shocker, he cost the team 2 goals again and its this type of indeciveness that may shoot us in the foot, had we not of scored four, especially if it was a Premiership match.
Thing is...when he went off it seemed to have a positive effect on the team. Just wondering if it was a tactic possibly deployed by himself as he may have felt under pressure and didnt want to be the blame for any more goals that may have went in! He wasnt playing well and by going off it possibly helped the side as Liverpool didnt really have a meaningful shot the rest of the game!!!
I'm not saying he wasn't hurt and I wish him the best but we just dont seem to be confident at the back when he is playing.
Harry needs to get this sorted ASAP and going with Cesar Sanchez in next few games may not be a bad idea.
What do you all think?
In a world full of City's and United's...there is only one Hotspur
I think that is a stretch.
Personally, I don't think we can take anything from this in terms of Sanchez's performance. The defense tightened up and he wasn't ever really tested.
yeah excactly..it wasn't like sanchez had alot to do and the boys wouldve really picked up after gomes got hurt
Tottenham Hotspur for life!!!

Think you're being a bit harsh on Gomes, yes the two he let in were absolute shockers, but at least he makes a decision and the majority of the time it's a good one. Highly doubt he'd have got himself injured just to get off the pitch. ALso agree with US_Spurs_Fan can't say anything about Ceasar from the tiny amount we saw, if he was better than Gomes he'd be playing on a regular basis
Redknapp-"winning's a great habit"
Yeah I think he need a kick up the arse, to sort his game out!!!
Really i don't think Gomes would have wanted to get kicked in the face just so he could have gone off. Pretending he had a ****y leg or summit would have easily been a good enough excuse to get subbed off.
Since 'Arry took charge, Gomes has looked better I believe. I think he will continue to improve. I have full faith in him.
Hope it isnt a serious injury.
I actually agree with Clarkey. I think Gomes knew he was to blame for both goals (Coincidentally Liverpools only two attempts at goal) and when he got knocked in the face he took it as a way out.
He never lost consciousness, he didn't need to go hospital and Harry said it looked a lot worse than it was, and all this from a keeper who played with a broken rib not so long back? If he never got knocked out then why did he lie there for nearly 10 minutes without moving? He bottled it because he knew he was to blame for both goals and he wanted out.
I'm sorry but the lad isn't cut out for Spurs. The only problem with Cesar is he's two foot too small so our goalkeeper problem is still a problem and it needs sorting.
Other than our number 1 the team look great and I guarantee Harry is far too savvy to not already be looking at a replacement for Gomes.
na don't believe that.
Not saying it wasn't his fault but it wasn't entirely his fault. the defenders let the strikers have the efforts and prob could have done bit better and he did make couple of decent saves including the one he got injured for when the defenders really should have read the play and cut the ball out. didn't exactly have a shocker, jus unfortunate that 2 poor desicions led to goals. think he's getting better but he's still poor at set pieces, which arry will have to work on with him
No, it was gomes fault, for both. On both goals if he was correctly positioned the ball would have came to him or since he has class reflexes probably would have saved them. He has no clue what to do in the air, that is evident. On the whole spurs playing brilliantly tonight. Frazier played up to his potential and dawson is getting better with every game
Terrible night for Gomez. He is responsible for the 2 goals and he got injured.
His injury shows that this wasn't his lucky night in general.
The 2 goals shows that he needs to calm down and play concentrated. His done the same mistakes many times before.
But this is our fault. We dumbed Robinson searching for someone steady. Someone who will breathe out confidence and we buy Gomez, a great keeper but also a known lunatic...
We will see from now on...
Can't smile without you!
Didnt mean he deliberately went out to get injured just thought it more of a good opportunity to go off and milk the injury a bit so there was less blame on him.
I hope he does improve would be great to see a world class keeper at the Lane as its been a while, but if it continues like this who exactly do we buy if Harry decides to go shopping?
Suppose James is the one everyone would instantly think of but he is getting on a bit, personally I would definately go for Ben Foster or maybe someone like Kirkland, with a decent back four in front he could well do a great job!
Any other suggestions?

GomeZ gives any team playing against us an easy route to score. Get a corner. It cant continue.
Out of five corner one will give a goal as it stands right now. With gomeZ in goal we need to score 2 or 3 to win a game.
I like the Gomez - but he's not a first team keeper.
you traded one disaster(Robinson) for a new one.Gomez is a 8mil pound worth and he s a menace for his own goal and his teammates
