Hey there,
Over the past few years I have heard my friends ranting on about Spurs being the new wholesalers of the Premier League. Its unfortunate for us that we buy great players and 2 years down the line selling them, I would really like to see some loyalty like King has had. I believe he has had some opportunities in the past to move.
What I'm getting at, instead of selling so many players why won't we keep our current squad, and maybe add few players near January that we need. And definately try and keep a hold of our players and I believe Harry will be able to do this though
I hate Berbatov - after his first season with us he got big headed and wanted the move to Man Utd, thankfully Jol persuaded to not to.
Keane - well he has been a loyal player for years and we should thank him for everything he has done.
I think part of the problem is the lack of success. Tottenham IS a big club with a rich history which attracts players to the club. However, they come with the ambition to win & while we continue to underachieve they will continue to leave. The problem is is that it then becomes an ongoing circle. As long as their is inconsistency within the squad, we can never hope to maintain a consistent challenge. I thought winning the CC last year would encourage players to stay & achieve more however, yet again, we saw first team players leave.
That leads me on to the other, and perhaps more serious problem. We have not managed to keep consistency in the squad but we have had even less consistency with managers. Look at Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool. All have had stability with their management. Every time a new manager comes in, he wants to add his own ingredients into the mix & that upsets the current squad. That then leads to the team not doing so well, which then leads to players leaving again & ultimately another change in management.
Hopefully Harry will be here for a while & if he can achieve another cup win, maybe not this season but hopefully next, we should see a bit more loyalty from the players also. The good thing about Harry is the players all seem very connected with him & want to work under him. They all know that they are at a big club that deserves success &, as long as they are kept happy, there should be no reason for them to want to leave.
King and Bongani,
King and Bongani bong!!
(watch out here they come!)
Will we stay or will we go now?
Will we stay or will we go now?
If we go there will be trouble
and if we stay we'll do the double
So Levy has got let us know
Will we stay or will we go!
Rafael, Van Der Vaart
ƒuck Chelsea & Frank Lampard
with a nick-nack paddywhack he'll be getting goals
when Lampard's too fat & old
COYSAFOYS
That my friend is th eSpurs business modell.
That is the way it will stay untill the entire philosephy of the club changes.
No, we can change it if we get our team in lock-down zone and start winning more cups. I think we can certainly win the Carling cup again! We can win the other cups we are in atm.
Yea but if we win more the players will be worth more and all the Spurs board will see is £££.
As said I think a manager who can convince them to stay would be best, Harry apparently has control so should be able to say no to the board when they want to sell players to make a profit.
"It's no use just winning, we've got to win well."
If he cant he will do "the off", I am sure of it.
He is far to long in the tooth, experienced and in demand to be messed about with. There are plenty of options for him all the time, we will have to work hard to keep this fella and us fans can play a masive part in that.
He's made a great start and all he needs to do is get us a respectable finish this term and posibly defend our Cup and he will be on his way.
COYS and Arry.
My opinion, for what it's worth, is that players can only see glory in the Champions League. As long as that is in the forefront of their minds nothing will change. For some reason players (and many fans) see the CL as the holy grail. Last season we beat Chelsea in the CC final at Wembley Man Utd beat them in the CL final at Moscow. Was Man Utd's a better win? In last years competition 3 of the semi finalists were English (well in name) is that really a champions league of Europe? My point is (I think) that clubs and players no longer put the domestic competitions as high priority and only want to play in what they see as top flight competitions. Berbatov only came to us to see if he could cut it in England as soon as he saw that he could he wanted the move to Man Utd. Why on Earth he wanted to come here to play in Europe when he was already playing there in the first place is beyond me.
The other thing that doesn't help us is player power, you get a player on a four year contract but you have reopen negotiations after two years to get him to stay. In the good old days even if a players contract was up we still held his licence until somone came in with the right price. This should still happen if a player is a regular in the first team. If a player only plays a few games and wants to move only then should the Bosman ruling come into play. This way we still could have made some bunce on that bloke at Portsmouth and held on to Berbatov until we found a suitable replacement. Until something like this happens we will be a feeder club for the likes of Man Utd as clubs like West Ham feed us.
just be grateful we have started to win and Arry hhas made it a fun place to play your football.
Ramos didnt have the results and the players hated it at the club.
Come Jan 1st, there would have been such an exedus from the club, some of our older Jewish supporters would have though Paul Newman was setting up a second Isreal.
Arry has put us on the right path, he's the kind of man to sniff out a bargin, he's got more business sense than Commilli so I dont see him letting 3 strickers go in the period of months whilst buying..... one (last min). Arry will build a big wall around the team and Levy will not be given a pass.
in the defence of keane and berbatov, they are top,top quality players who deserve to be playing for top honours unfortunatly spurs could not provide this for them so they had to look alse where................im still abit pissed about hte keane situation as stated so many times that he was a spurs player through and through and that he would remain at spurs for the rest of his career
Cooooooome ooooooooon uuuuuuu spuuuuuuuurz
