Setanta are reporting this morning that our former clueless sporting director Daniel Comolli has taken over at St Ettiene the club president has called Comolli in to halt their recent slide in form losing their last 5 games. So they`ve turned to Comolli to turn it roundthats them down then

the sporting director role does work on the continent , it does just not work in the premiership .
indeed juande ramos will probably take control of a team in spain again and be a success ? the premiership is a truely unique league with its own qualities and difficulties thankfully happy harry knows it inside out .

Yeah, & I just watched what would've been the 1st game since his arrival. St. Etienne got creamed 3-0 by Rennes (incidentally, Jimmy Briand who Harry is supposedly interested in was playing & setup 2 of the goals but missed a sitter himself!).
St. Etienne have just sacked their manager, Laurent Roussey, as a result. So, I guess Commoli's 1st job will be to find a new manager.

it doesn't really matter where it is, it will only work if the DoF & the manager are 100% supportive of each other. When they are appointed separately it is actually quite hard to achieve that unity.
