Daniel Levy recently admitted that there would be limited transfer funds available in January in part thanks to the compensation being paid to the previous, sacked Ramos regime.
As much as £15m was being quoted with tales of Ramos & his lawyers preparing to sue Spurs to get the full amount he believed was owed to him. Ramos was on a £3.5m / year contract with just under 3 years left to run & was looking for someting i the region of £7m just for himself! Unbelievable gall for someone who had COMPLETELY failed to do the job he initially promised.
However, in order to bring the subject to a fast conclusion, it seems Juande has decided to settle for FAR less. A fee of just £1.7m has been agreed between his lawyers & Spurs. The figure is supposed to be the one actually agreed in his original contract anyway & is relative to the club's position in the league.
Alvarez & Poyet have agreed to half of their annual salaries so it will have cost us, in all, less than £2.5m to get rid of the lot of them!
That should mean that we will have a little more to spend in the upcoming window than first stated... which is nice.

King and Bongani,
King and Bongani bong!!
(watch out here they come!)
Will we stay or will we go now?
Will we stay or will we go now?
If we go there will be trouble
and if we stay we'll do the double
So Levy has got let us know
Will we stay or will we go!
Rafael, Van Der Vaart
ƒuck Chelsea & Frank Lampard
with a nick-nack paddywhack he'll be getting goals
when Lampard's too fat & old
COYSAFOYS
Thats not too bad at all tbh, especially compared to £15m. I cannot see it effecting January transfers that much though. Levy always seem to have money down the back of the sofa.
The only thing annoying about the Ramos saga was that he was never going to quit no matter how bad it got because he wouldnt get as big a pay-out for being sacked. Anyway hes gone.
In the short of it... I'm glad they've come to an arragement, means Spurs will prosper in two front - 1. We've got shot of Wendy and 2. We'll have better funds available.
Has Harry appointed a Scout??? The 'only' thing I like about a director of footy was that they spend most of their time scouting for talent and this is probably one of the key factors for having a young british base of players! I fear this might be different hereafter as Harry is in charge (I'm cool with that) but fear he might not have hte same 'free time' as the DoF did!?!?!?

Good Morning, how the Spanish "Mr. Bean" has the front
to take a penny off us is quite beyond me...
Sorry.
i'm just glad its over and we're finally cut free of him and no longer have any connections with him
I'd agree, ok I would compensate him, but (BUT) - morally I wouldn't be able to take a penny knowing that I've taken a top 6 team to the dizzy lows of religation (within a year) and expect loads of money for being loyal and waiting for the management to sack me is disrespectful to the team and the supporters... you know yourself when you've lost the support of the dressing room and the management - it just proves he was staing for the money (again my opinion)...

Worth every penny to get rid of them. It would have cost us a whole lot more to keep them!!!!
