CLASSIC FOOTBALL DVDs | Over 4000 Classic Matches in one place!

I stumbled across this great website the other day. It's been set up by a guy who has been recording UK football matches since the 1970's. He has a little bit of everything, Charity Shield, Old Football League (60's-90's), FA Cup, etc.

Every DVD has a reference & are listed in their relevant catergories. There is a huge selection of everything from England games to Testimonials & there is lots of Spurs stuff (good & bad) amongst it all if you look. He charges £5 per disk via Paypal.

Here are some that I've picked out so far:

      Reference 214 : 1st Division 86-87
      Man U 3-3 Spurs
      Spurs 0-0 Luton
      Spurs 2-3 N. Forest
      Spurs 1-2 Arsenal (Damn!!)
      New U 1-1 Spurs
      Spurs 3-0 A. Villa

      Reference 36 : 1st Division 85-86
      Spurs 5-1 New U

      Reference 7 : 1st Division 82-83
      Spurs 2-1 Birmingham
      Spurs 2-0 Swansea

      Reference 8 : 1st Division & FA Cup 82-83
      Spurs 2-1 WBA
      N. Forest 2-2 Spurs

      Reference 488 : 1st Division 82-83
      Spurs 4-1 N. Forest

      Reference 633 : 1st Division 81-82
      Spurs 2-0 Arsena; (Wahey!)

Reference 2751 : Ossie Ardiles Testimonial
Spurs 2-1 Inter (Low quality & no Commentary but a must for any Spurs fan!)

There are loads if you are prepared to look like most of our 1991 FA cup run etc.
      Jan Vertonghen!

I just bought the testimonial one, I just had to watch Maradonna in a Spurs shirt again! I think the youtube video I posted in the 'Spurs Videos' section of this site is actually from this same version. I also got the one of the 86-87 season. There are a couple of losses on it (notably to the scum) but I really wanted to watch Hoddle & Waddle & Clive playing together once more!

Good Morning, Received the DVD I ordered, great quality and
a really good service. Highly recommended if you have old
games you want to see again. I bought the 87 Semi, a game
I had not seen since actually being there. In that season we
went to most games home and away including the Final.
Nice to look back sometimes, especially to see Hoddle and
      Waddle etc...
Take a look at the site,
Thanks again to Basskadet for making me aware of it.
      Kindest Regards Slim.

      No probs Slim!

You received yours today? I better go check my post! Geoff told me tho he was going to get my order ready & post it monday so I can't see how it would be here already. Looks like you got preferential treatment Slim! I ordered the '87 semi also (the 4-1 Watford game I think). Good to hear its good quality.

One thing I ought to say. Make sure you check the length of the recordings before you buy. Many of the matches are highlights on old shows like Match of the Day & the Big Match & some can be as short as 5min. Also he sometimes has different versions of the same game, one highlights & one extended highlights. Just check first as it would be a huge disappointment to get all excited about seeing some game from 1982 that was the 1st match you ever went to or something only to find out its only 5 min long!

I just checked & they were there! How did I miss them???

just sat down with a coffee to watch Man U v Spurs 86-87 season which I believe was a 3-3 thriller!

So far so good. Good quality (although its obviously off VHS there is no analogue interference or tracking issues at all. Its perfect, its just not quite as clear an image as we're used to nowadays but it is just how it used to be). Wow, it takes me back! Watching Waddle making a fool of United's LB is just a joy to behold! What a team that was! There are about 7 games from that season on this particular DVD & about 3 of them are losses (including 1 to the scum) but its worth it just to watch them play. Its a beautiful thing.

Incidentally, this was Fergie's 1st season at United & John Motson, commentating for this match, points out that Fergie was very close to becoming the Spurs manager after Burkinshaw left us. He says it very by-the-by as noone back then could've guessed what a succes Fergie was going to be at Man U. Can you imagine if he had come to the Lane back then? Who knows what might've been as we were definitely right up there with the best teams in England at that time.

Have you ordered 1 yet Riv?

That Mabbutt diving header! I remember it like it was yesterday!

I tell you it's such a shame listening to the commentators of yesteryear. Referring to Spurs - United as 'the glamour occasion' of the old Division One. How they talk about Spurs just reminds you of how good we were for over 40 years from the 50's to the early 90's and then it all went downhill & we have sunk into mediocrity.
